I made a big mistake by selling all my Glocks and buying M&P's

Actually Glocks have 3 safeties. 2 Internal and the trigger being the third. It's typical of very inexperienced shooters wanting a pistol with a manual safety. In reality its a real false sense of security. If one has the proper gear, is properly trained and trains with said gear on a...

I made a big mistake by selling all my Glocks and buying M&P's

There;s plenty of evidence that issues are common on both sides Glock and S&W. I got rid of my glocks for M&Ps and I love the platform. I'm also not your go to the range shoot 50 rounds and think thats a lot of shooting kind of guy.. I go through 1000 rounds a month on pistol alone.

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

This past Saturday I picked up an M&P Shield 9mm and today I got a chance to shoot it. I must say I'm very impressed with this little pistol. The main characteristic that blew me away was it's accuracy. This pistol has a 3.1" barrel and I was making head shots at 25y with no issues. There's...

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

There's quite a bit of poor information about shooting on the internet and the statement above is not one f them. As a trainer, this is one of the best pieces of advice I've read on the subject in the internet. Way to go RSchleder. BTW, I'm a lefty too.

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

SOunds good. Yeah without watching one shoot its hard to determine what they are doing. But since trigger control is IMO the hardest fundamental to master I would venture to say that's what the problem is. With good practice and some dry fire one can be very surprised how much improvement...

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

It's easier for cross dominant shooter but that stance and grip works for everyone. It's also the natural position the body goes to under stress. When was the last time you saw a LEO or soldier shooting from the Weaver stance sunder extreme duress in a fire fight. That stance is a true fighting...

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

Dont do the push pull grip, that's old and antiquated. Get into a good modified iscoceles stance, punch both arms out equally, get a good grip on the pistol, not too loose but not too tight either. Check out my training video on what a grip for a SA pistol should look like. Proper Semi Auto...

New Shield, consistently shooting 8-9 o'clock of bullseye

The shield is a SMALL weapon system with a very short sight radius. As a result they are going to be more difficult to shoot. If you don't have a solid fundamentals i.e grip, trigger control, follow through etc.. your target will show it. A lot of people think a small pistol is easier to...

Question about the M&P 45ACP and the M&P9

I have a .45 and a 9, both with the small grip. The 45 is bigger than the 9 and is easily felt when holding both. Personally I LOVE the way the 9 feels, and I shoot it better. Both guns are great though. You need to shoot them and actually feel it for yourself.
