What's this primer trying to tell me?

"Anyway, about the last few minutes he shows how the gun is empty and proceeds to take out the firing pin and spring. Of course the spring goes flying and after he finds it it all goes back together. Great how to video and it's FREE." :D:D Now, we're talkin..

What's this primer trying to tell me?

That's why I had a 10X magnifier looking at the primer. I've checked back through my fired brass, and it doesn't seem to have any pattern as far as whether it is a light, moderate, or hot load. I'm betting that what I'm seeing is not unusual from what you guys are telling me. Once I get a...

I do my own mechanical stuff.. :D Thanks for that.

What's this primer trying to tell me?

Just loaded a few more, and the easy way apparently isn't the answer. ;) Sprayed some cleaner in there, blew it out..3 out of 5 did it. It's no big deal, I suppose.. but I checked some other brass that I'd shot, and even some military ball, and some did it. I only noticed it because I was...

What's this primer trying to tell me?

Hmmm, I like the sound of that.. when you look at it under a magnifier, that's a possibility. Maybe the firing pin is just dirty? I've had this gun since new, and just started to shoot it again after a 30 some year hiatus.

What's this primer trying to tell me?

No, it doesn't happen on all of them. I've just noticed it, though. I'll go back through some of my brass from different loads and see if I find it.

What's this primer trying to tell me?

Hi, folks.. I was working up a load for my model 469, and noticed this. See the half moon on the edge of the primer strike? Looking at it through a 10X glass it looks like something is sliding to put the half moon in there. Does my explanation make sense?

    Model 469 info

Oh, price doesn't matter. It's not like I'm going to sell it or anything.. Thanks! I went to the big spring gun show in Indy this month, but never saw asking prices anywhere near that low. It's been 25 years since I priced anything involved with shooting sports. Imagine the sticker shock...

    Model 469 info

Well, I put 50 rounds through it today, and liked it better than I expected. A good cleaning and lube considerably helped the feel of the trigger. It's.. uh.. ok, considering what the gun is made for. It's not a target pistol for heavinsake..:) Functions very well. That's a good thing...

    Model 469 info

If I had the box, I'd have the paperwork. :D We moved in 97, and some things have apparently fallen into another dimension in space/time..<shrug> ;) I loaded up a bunch of 115 FMJs last night to see how it shoots. So.. ballpark figure.. $400-500 retail?

    Model 469 info

Nope, its a 469. Looks like satin nickle to me, but I could be wrong. The dealer said it was a limited edition when I bought it. Serial no TAB 8388 I suppose this makes it *extremely* valuable.. :D:D if true?

    Model 469 info

I have a satin nickle 469 that I bought new back in the day. I haven't shot it much since then, but am getting interested in shooting again. Somehow, I've lost the paperwork that came with it, and would like to strip it down for a proper cleaning and get to know it session. Search hasn't gotten...

    Intro and question about snubbie

Hey, thanks for the help. I wasn't making any sense of this serial number with my admittedly new guy search skills. This forum and the expertise on it rocks.. :)
