    Rusting inside Safe As a side note, if you are getting rust inside safe, get a dehumidifier. Any place that sells safes will have them. Plugs into wall socket. Uses so little current, you'll never see it on your electric bill. Cheap insurance to keep prized weapons in proper condition...

    If you remove the hammer spur, will that affect reliability, since you have reduced hammer mass?

    Brand new 686 - Rediculous problem!

    Too late now, but two things I would have checked are 1) If I took the yoke screw out completely, did the tip of the screw come off and fall into the action? 2) Will it function if I hold back the cylinder thumb latch? Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

    Agree. Keep it clean and check it again after a few hundred rounds. Check to make sure nothing has come loose. Good luck and keep us informed.
