One reason I sold my buckmark and got a 41 is because the 41 will always go up in value if maintained. It’s a low production and desirable gun. Maybe that will help you justify the investment.
Does smith make an out of the box “race gun”? Canik has the new wonder 9, the FNX9 Tactical is another option, as is the Beretta M9A3 and some CZ models. Wondering if smith makes a worked up M&P 9mm
Glocks before the Gen 5 had polygonal cut rifling. This was to improve the seal around the bullet and lead to better velocity and reliability with less fouling. It states in the owners manual not to shoot lead through that rifling because the lead fouls it very quickly and causes the barrel to...
Glocks (and other well made firearms) usually only explode due to ammo problems. Some people get double charged rounds. Some people get squibs and shoot without clearing them. Some people don’t read the directions and shoot lead ammo even though they shouldn’t.
And then there’s one in several...
I just picked up a used 41 with box and two mags for $800 at my LGS. Word of warning, it’s ammo picky, likes the CCI standard velocity. Outside of that it’s an awesome built gun, stupid accurate. I see them listed on gunbroker all the time for upwards of 1000 but they don’t seem to sell. Maybe...
Long time GLOCK user, and I did kind of clickbait you. The GLOCK 19 gen 4 was the first gun I bought ever so I’ll be keeping it forever as well, but there’s been some killer deals on the M&P 2.0 compacts at my local shop and got me thinking of maybe grabbing one to try.
I do like the looks of...
Ran 100cci standards through it, no issues. I did have one empty get caught between the slide and next round but that was Eley Target ammo.
I guess I’ll be shooting the CCI standard in it from now on.
I did get good news from the shop I got it from. Even though it was used they have a 30 day policy. They will either take it to their gunsmith or send it back to smith and Wesson for repair (id prefer the latter). I think this is a good idea anyway for a gun from 1987 as some springs and things...
I have standard velocity CCI coming. If that doesn’t clear it up then I’ll take it to a gunsmith for analysis and repair. If it still doesn’t function right after that it will go down in my book as a huge piece of garbage and will be the last smith product I buy. I thought this gun was going to...
Took my new used 1987 model 41 the range, tons of issues unfortunately, all tied to ejection/extraction. Did mostly fine with CCI mini mags but didn’t like much of my cheaper ones. Several types of malfunctions
1. Case gets stuck in chamber, re-racking does not help extractor claw grab it out...
Thanks for the info. I typically shoot Aguila standard becolity out of my Savage MKii rifle and it groups almost as well as CCI mini Mags, just for half the price. I’ll be trying a few loads through this. Encouraged to hear that my gun may after all be all original. I still think it was a one...
Better photos after a clean. It’s not that bad but I’m OCD. Also noticed it has a magazine disconnect (won’t fire with no mag). Do they all have this? Doesn’t bother me just curious.
