After a very good chamber cleaning, get yourself a tin of Imperial Sizing Die Wax and put a very thin coat in the chamber with a qtip. It keeps the brass from sticking in the chamber like it keeps a cartidge case from sticking in a sizing die.
Shot the new Walther lined barrel at 50 yds. Off a rest with 3 inch red dot I'm grouping mostly between 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 inch 10 shot groups. And the barrel looks inside like it should have the factory. Its a shooter now for sure. Money well spent as I see it.
I know it doesn't make you feel better but the one I bought last year looks worse than yours. Looks like the rifling is off center on the picture of yours also. Just sent mine to Ten ring precision for a reline. SW brushed me off when I sent it back to them.
Besides the bead blast in the muzzle, the rifling is off center of the bore. At 12 o'clock there is a visable step in the rifleing and at 6 there is none. I just sent the barrel to Ten Ring Precision for a reline job. Think I did the right thing? I earlier sent it back the SW and I think their...
Got a fairly new 41 that would jam on first shot after cleaning the barrel. Did it like clockwork. So next time i cleaned it I used a qtip with a little Imperil die sizing wax in the chamber. Hasnt jammed again. Just saying.....
That's the plan. I'll have one barrel with the red dot and one with the 4x. Ya think the 4x is enough power to bench at 25 yds, would like about 1/2 or less target to focus on.
Thinking of putting a Leuopold 4x on my 5.5 inch model 41. Whatchu guys think. I'll be benching it at 25 yds mostly. Ive got a red dot for free hand.
Thanks for input.
It groups 5/8-1" ten shot groups rested at 25yds with 3 min red dot. Im a benchrest shooter mostly so I dont know exactly how tight the groups should be. Using CCi standard velocity
Bought a model 41 a month ago and just noticed with the bore scope the rifling was bead blasted at the muzzle. Looks like the face of the barrel was blasted and they didnt plug the bore. Cant see with the naked eye but the scope show it being pretty ugly in there. What would you do?
Thanks for...
