I use Win 231 for my reloads. It’s not a problem in my other revolvers but if this is especially tight maybe I need to try some factory ammo and see if that helps.
Yes. It truly is. It’s the deepest bluing I’ve ever seen on a Smith revolver. The only thing that comes close is is my model 10 no dash pencil barrel, but it’s a much lighter bluing than this one.
My lousy photography skills do not even begin to do it justice.
I have a beautiful 2” round butt model 10-7 I won in a GB auction last year. It is by far the most beautiful Smith revolver I own. It’s also the most finicky and most unreliable.
Just 40-60 rounds is enough to start having issues with the cylinder binding. It’s easy to see its buildup of...
I bought a 66-1 4" last week for $600 looks as though it had less than 250 rounds through it.
I would say the price is too high.
And like said above limit the use of magnums. That gun looks like it has a lot of life in it, but I would shoot mostly .38's out of it to be safe.
It is common, but they should have advertised that it will not work with speed loaders.
That would be a no go for me. Even with my range only guns I like to practice my loading. I would send them back.
The little Jframes have history, and with a little practice can be very practical self defense guns.
They conceal very well and are very versatile being suited to pocket, ankle, or belt carry.
Don't give up just yet. With the proper grip and a little practice the recoil can be brisk, yet...
Carried a 442 daily for the last 12 years with the lock and have never had any issues.
It has more rounds through it than the average Jframe and has never locked itself.
I don't like it because of why it was installed, but it has never been a problem and it doesn't cause me any concern.
