    Finally...A Way To Carry a 4" N Frame Concealed!

I carry my full size 1911s concealed. Lately, I have worked with my 629-5 6". I can carry it comfortably and concealed now.I use tagua ( spelling probably wrong) belt holsters, and galco shoulder holsters. I love both brands. Keep in mind though, I am 6'5" and my body build and wardrobe...

    When does it stop?

To me, it is simple. The more money I get... the more guns and ammo I seem to acquire... plain and simple :)

Fun Day at the Range w 4" 629

I also have a 629-5, but it is a 6". Got it, shot it.... shot it some more... now I can't stop. It shoots better than I can by far... but that's the challenge- to get as good as the gun.

    Proper Cleaning of a Revolver

+3 on the bore snake. Priceless. Something I like that I haven't seen anyone else do, is using a cloth meant for eye glasses after using oil on the outside of the gun, especially if there is excess. I love Oakley cleaning cloths/ glasses storage bags for this. It doesn't take away all the oil...

Brought home 2 "new to me" Smith wheel guns today

My dad taught me the proper respect for guns at an early age. His 581 no dash 4 inch full underlug was the first handgun that I ever had the pleasure of shooting. To this day he still takes it out and goes shooting with me. I love shooting that gun. It's still his favorite ( he changed to...

accuracy of a 629-5 with factory ammunition

Well said, Dave. I currently am keeping them pretty close, 6-7inches, id say, is my average at 25. My last one of that day was under 4, so I ended on a good note on that box (I was out besides my carry ammo, or I would've kept shooting). Also, next time ill hold the gun a bit higher up on the...

accuracy of a 629-5 with factory ammunition

You might want to try Remington's 240 grain gas check. I find this is an accurate load in both my 6" 629 and the 6.5" 29 in my above video. Mark WHAAAAAAAT! That was awesome. Impressive sir. Ill give the gas checks a try... but I think actually hitting that m&m requires more than good ammo!

accuracy of a 629-5 with factory ammunition

First off, I love my 629-5 (6 inch barrel). I have piled up some decent factory ammunition for it now ( Remington 275 grain hp core loks, American Eagle 240 grain hp, Winchester wb 240 grain fp, Remington 180 grain fp... wow what a noisy fire ball, magtech 240 grain fp). I have tried a couple of...

Best All Round 240gr Factory 44 Mag Ammo

I love federal American eagles if I can find them. They are my choice for carry in my 6" 629-5. Ive seen them crono above their advertised fps too. I also like Remington, Winchester, etc... whatever I can find really. Ive been seeing federal champion, but I haven't tried it due to the difference...

    AMMO TO AVOID

My father had an issue with their 125 grain .357 mags a few years back. The primers would warp and expand causing the gun to jam. He e-mailed them, and although it took a few days, they responded by sending label for him to ship them back. After a week or so, they sent him 100 rounds of their...

    Wally World

I have 2 wm stores near by and they seem to always have wwb, umc, fed champ among other cheapo brands that ive not seen before in .45 acp, .40.s&w and 9mm,... & Remington and wwb .44 mag. They also have .25 auto, .357 mag & Sig among others. I even saw several boxes of rem .41 mag at the local...

    Ruger redhawk trigger pull

Yeah, there's no way I'd ever trade. I'm a 1911 guy myself, but the moment I picked the Smith up, we clicked. It made me look good first time out at the range. Even my 1911s do not feel that natural to me, and that is saying a lot.

    Ruger redhawk trigger pull

Thanks for the help everyone, I will prob pass on the deal. I was on the fence to begin with, but my friend just asked me if I'd trade my Smith for the SRH instead of a cash deal. Its nice to know that the design is different, and that the trigger is supposed to have a different feel. I may pick...
