Was in our local wally world yesterday and took a quick trip to the ammo counter. They now have more ammo on the shelves than I've seen in years. Mostly WWB both hollow point and FMJ. But still not a lot of sporting ammo. Even asked if they had 22's. NOPE. Frank

My local one has been running a sale on the perFecta 9mm ammo.
One of my pistols likes it a lot, so I've been buying a couple of boxes
any time I go there.

Found some primed .45-70 cases and an HKS speedloader for the J-frame at a local gun store today, so I helped out the smaller guy too.

Seems to be spotty to me. There are two WMs not far from my house,
10-12 miles but in opposite directions. One has a good selection of
ammo with several varieties of 9mm but very few 22s. The other has
basically nothing but shotshells and a few centerfire rifle rounds.

Our wallmart was keeping the 22s for local gun shop. They were selling them for $8 or $9 a box of 50 some were even in zip lock bags. I went there every morning for 2 weeks asking if any 22s came in. She always said no.

Just yesterday I bough a brick of Remington golden bullet HP for 34.99 a box of 525 loose. They have had 22s the last 2 times I was there.

Winchester ammo at walmart ?

I got some ammo at walmart today. Winchester PDX1 defender bonded hollowpoints. I figure this is the best stuff Winchester makes?
The 9mm +p has velocity of 1200fps. 40S&W 1,180fps, and the 223 at 2,780fps.

there were still no 22 lr ammo at walmart!

It has to be local. I see 22lr ammo in all gunstores. I've even posted pictures of crates of 22lr stacked from floor to ceiling at my lgs.

Can't speak for Walmart. They don't sell anything gun related here

The local WalMart had .22 today for the first time since about 2013. Don't need it but I bought the 3 box (40 gr Fed Target 325 box) limit for $60.90, about $.0625/rd. Caught me off guard after having the "negative" response to the "got any?" for near 2 years. Not really a bargain. Joe

Yeah, I was in my local Wally today too. THEY HAD EVERYTHING! I wish my checking account was more flush. They even had 3 kinds of .22s. I bought my limit of CCI 22 shorts and some Federal aluminum 9, 40 and 45. There were three other ammo buyers there at the same time and all of us were astonished at our choices.

Up here in Maine Bangor area 9mm no problem,.22 is hit or miss and usually a miss at Wal Mart! From what I found out Employees or their friends have been Snaggin all the .22 they get their hands on and resell at double the price,, Talk about gouging!!! But funny thing is even the small LGS always have .22 all the time
ammo shopping link
Seems Wal Mart removed any info on .22 from their web site per WIKI

Try the BrassBadger app and see how it works for you. It did let me know of 22 in stock but it lags and it says certain types are still in stock which it isn't.

Every man in the past who was able to do a semi skilled brand of labor did his job well, and was able to pay the rent and take care of his family should take pause when thinking about walking into a Walmart for ammo or anything else. Somebody pays at the end of the line and you don't have to be a economics major to figure it out.

Stock of ammo was way up in the weeks before Father's Day at my WM, Dick's, Academy, and Bass Pro.

Most of them have gotten very little in since. The managers I know say that the warehouses held back for a while, then shipped pallets full for Father's Day sales, and there hasn't been but a trickle since. If you went on the right days in June, it appeared that the drought was over, but not really the case.

Walmarts supply of ammo is poor indicator. They never had much of a selection if any. And in some places, like where I live, Walmart doesn't carry guns or ammo. ....ever. However my lgs is stock with all kinds of ammo in many different varieties

I have 2 wm stores near by and they seem to always have wwb, umc, fed champ among other cheapo brands that ive not seen before in .45 acp, .40.s&w and 9mm,... & Remington and wwb .44 mag. They also have .25 auto, .357 mag & Sig among others. I even saw several boxes of rem .41 mag at the local Dunham... but those were $$$$ If I recall, 57 bucks a box. Dunham also had .380 in bulk packs among all other common cal pistol cartridges.. but they are expensive too. .44 and was near as makes no difference 50 bucks a box. Id really like to see more American eagle, but I have to travel 30 miles to academy in chattanooga to get that if i want it.
