Sorry about that...
Sorry guys. Had a really bad couple days. I'm not selling it. It was more of a knee-jerk reaction. I'm going to keep it and shoot it. If I have something that works, I use it. I just want it to be reliable. Didn't mean to cause any trouble. Just had a bad day...
I personally think that rather than tell a customer that they have a cracked slide that they just said it had to do with melonite.
I will be selling this Shield and buying a Glock 43 now. I've owned 3 Glocks and never had to send them in for anything. I've owned one S&W and I had to send it...
OK folks. Got it back today via FedEx all is well.
They replaced the slide. Funny thing is they never told me if it was cracked or not. In the box there was a paper that said "Melonite stain" in red pen. I wonder if that is the coating on the slide (kind of like Glock's Tenifer coating)...
I have used it for 6 years now (Ballistol) and have no issues. I have a 1952 Winchester Model 94 (30/30) that I have used Ballistol on. I store it in a silicone gun sock and I never have any issues. I also use it on my Glocks and revolvers and have zero issues. I love the stuff. I use...
Because there are idiots that don't know how to reload properly and their rounds can cause malfunctions.
If someone can actually reload correctly and the rounds run fine then great. I would never run reloads in a SD gun, that's just not me.
I have a M&P Shield 9mm and I feel that the stock trigger is damn fine. I also run a Glock 19 Gen4 and I love the stock trigger on that guy too. I think a lot of mods people do are completely unnecessary.
This is very good info. I've not read it before but I agree with it....and I have night sights on my M&P Shield and my Glock. I have wondered about whether they are really necessary for a while now.
Thanks for posting this.
They did. FedEx Prepaid.
I'm fine with that. I'd rather ship the entire thing, plus then you have to inform FedEx that there is a firearm in the box and that helps because they DON'T want to lose a firearm in shipping. Not Good.
LOL. No offense, but why would I go to that trouble? I'll...
It is visible on those edges. After looking in better lighting, I can see the crack goes up over top of the slide and over to the other side of the firearm. I can really see that it's a crack now.
Well, I'll keep you all posted. Hoping to hear back form them this week and I'm sure they...
Can't see it on the inside because it is so thick right there. Maybe I could see it if I detail stripped the slide but I'm going to wait to see if S&W wants me to send it back.
What do you mean the bottom? Like can I see if there is a separation?
