    Price check on a 629-1 3"

Well, you see....value is what "market demand" and perceived lust is all about. Some guys just refuse to buy a post lock gun and some guys believe the LH pre-lock guns are the "Bees Knees". But for me, if I'm going to spend $1,000 on a Smith, its going to be a Performance Center gun. Yeah, it...

    Price check on a 629-1 3"

I just sold my 629-1 4" non-LH for $500 plus $35 for shipping. The gun is in great shape and is a very accurate shooter. It "went" with the Smith presentation (wooden) case. The case had a broken hinge and the velvet had all been dry rotted away....but the orginal cleaning kit was still sealed...

    460 Barrel Length ?

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking the 8-3/8 barrel will fling a chunk of lead at enough velocity to knock 'em down at 200 yards. At least....that was my thinking. You guys have confirmed you like the 8+" barrels. I'm just guessin they will do the job between 150 to 200 yards. Dave

    460 Barrel Length ?

I'm beginning to seriously look at getting a 460. I already own a DX Classic 44 and a M29 PC 44 mag. Now, Smith offers the 460 with with several different barrel lengths. A 10.5",12.0",8-3/8",5",2-3/4". Now, anything 5" or less for me I think will be too short. I plan on using this gun for...

    No locks??????

Interesting thought on market values. If Smith offered both, I would buy the no lock. But of my current "holdings" of "locks", I doubt that I would sell any of them. They are all fine shooters and serve a specific purpose for me. So, if the market value on 'em went down 50%...so what. If it...

Oil or wax to protect the finish ?

Tell him to bring the brew's. I use this Renaissance Wax on my Model 29 and it keeps it looking like it just came out of the box. Dave

    Gunblast Review of Nightguard Line

I have a "pre-NiteGuard" Smith. I own and shoot the Smith 386sc 7 shot AirLite revolver. I carry this gun most of the time as a backup when I hunt, and it also serves as a primary CCW for me. As far as recoil is concerned, I find it very managable. I shoot 180 grain XTP's over 12 grains of VV...

    STUPID,STUPID,STUPID!

My grandmother (God rest her soul) was a plain woman and a damn good hunter. She also baked one fine apple pie and made the best turtle soup on the planet! But....she always said "More people get killed by unloaded guns than any other kind". Then she would always say "Pick up a gun and always...
