I have for the 9mm Shield:
- (2) Samson +1 aluminum extensions for the MP Shield ($10 or 15 for both)
- (2) Magguts +1 plastic baseplate extension (Not the spring kit) ($10 each or $15 for both)
- 1 Gen 1 Magguts spring kit for Shield (+1) ($15)
- 1 Gen 2 "Zeespring" Magguts spring kit for...
I don't appreciate this request. There are plenty of people out there who struggle with the internet and systems like message boards and post common questions simply due to lack of exposure and/or limited computer use. Requesting forum members to limit their responses is unproductive and does...
Mine runs perfecta 9mm 115 gr, UMC Remington 115 gr JHP and blazer brass 124 gr all fine. I haven't tested the 147 grain because it's so hard to find and usually high price self defense loads. For a gun this small, I think the 115/124 grain is just fine.
I run the UMC 115 gr remington JHP as...
I don't really forsee any problems when it comes to 500-1000 rounds. My main concern is that the SS guide rod completely eliminates a very high tension spring that IMO appears to cushion the frame from the force of the slide cycling. Another concern is the guide rod reaching an acceptable...
Foxtrot Concealment on eBay or on his regular website is a good start.
$23ish shipped for a thin IWB kydex holster with a removable clip if you like soft belt loops which can be purchased on Amazon
I haven't tested mine out yet, but its sitting in the range bag waiting for me to throw it in. My only concern with the design is that the stress on the frame may be different than the stock spring system.
Just got the SS GUiderod in tonight.. Just put it in the gun
It hand cycles rounds fine with the slingshot method, because as we all know the kitty bear handle on the side is mean to "lock" the slide only ;-). It chambers rounds just fine that way too btw. Really the gun seems about the same...
Thanks for this. This was my concern as well. If I get any kind of funny activity from my SSGuiderod, I'll promptly send it back. I bought it through Amazon Prime.
I should have mine here soon as well. I'm not too keen on swapping from a dual to a single design system. I haven't had any problems from my stock system, just wanting to get this hammered down before the Shield takes my Glock 26's place.
Just got off the phone with S&W. They said "occasionally" someone will call in needing a replacement, but there is nothing wrong with the design or any batches they've made previously...I'm still wanting to hear about the SSguiderod system from any long term users. They seem to be few and far...
I still don't like the look of the stock system. I've fired about 300 rounds through this thing without any problems, but am still a little off put by how many folks admit the RSA been a problem in the past. I can manipulate the slide no problem etc, and have found no wobble or play in the...
I picked up a Shield after renting one and really liking the way it shot. The gun is nearly perfect. The first thing that crossed my mind when field stripping was, man this recoil spring assembly looks poorly made ( I am used to Glock's). After researching this issue, it seems like there are...
