    A blemished 32 HE arrives

I have one just like that with a little better blue which I bought in 1990 for $225. Maybe it hasn't been the best investment in the world but I have put several thousand rounds through it. I like the .32 round; it is accurate with light recoil. Very cheap to shoot, also. I used a pinch of...

The Model 10 - Why the bull barrel?

Haha! Yes, it is surprising how common this problem is.

    Help indentifying a revolver.

Welcome! I think a hearty "Happy New Year!" is appropriate. Sounds like you have inherited the quintessential Smith and Wesson police revolver of the early to mid-20th century. When I was a kid every cop I saw carried one of these in his holster.

My # 159825 shipped in 1912. Good luck with your new acquisition!

Help Identify my S&W 32 Gun's Model and Year

Heck, I would just round the broken spur a little and it would be a decent pocket gun with no spur to get hung up on the draw. Some folks spend good money for little custom touches like that! I like the 1903 .32s; I have several and I have shot them a lot. I appreciate the quality S&W put into...

    32 Hand Ejector 3rd MDL.

That is nice. I have a twin to it also wearing trimmed J-frame grips. I like them, because I used to shoot this a lot. Sometimes factory loads but usually with just a pinch of Bullseye and a cast bullet or even a single-0 buckshot pellet. Very fun and accurate; I used to shoot out in my shop...

    Skeeter Skelton's .357 to .44 Spl. article

Jim, I should have that issue if you are still wanting it. PM me your address and I will send it to you. It may take a while; my gun mags are in two steamer trunks which I haven't opened up this century. I have Shooting Times from the 1960s through the '80s. After Skeeter passed away I took it...

Was the Model 63, the first S&W stainless .22?

Some really nice M63s here. I bought mine about 40 years ago for around $225-$250, I don't recall exactly. It is pinned, SN is 167500. That is an easy one to remember! I have fired approx. 35,000 rounds through it. For about 10 years I did a lot of aerial target shooting and that really burns up...

32-20 Win reman ammo in a 102 yr old revolver?

About 'bump-up', I took this to mean swell and seal the barrel, as some undersize lead bullets do.

    Through the Years 1955

Boy, a lot of you guys are pretty old! I have several 1955 guns; a 922 H&R 6", a Winchester Model 62A, a Model 12 12 ga. and maybe others but I would have to check my files. My dad was born in 1921 and bought a brand new Marlin bolt action .22 repeater in 1933. He saved up for a long time...

    .22/32 Heavy Frame Target

Man, that is some nice shooting for 25 yards offhand. When I get a handgun, I shoot it from a rock solid rest to see how accurate it is, then I shoot it offhand to see how accurate I am! Also, to me the name looks like C F or C E Houpt. Houpt is a German name, I believe.
