Model 2 trigger and cyl stop pins

:oThanks for the replies. As to the “lightly heating”, I use a hot water bath, so no danger of messing with temper/hardness of either frame or pins. Followed by a dip in warm solvent/oil. I found this to be one of the safer ways to utilize heat on a frame. It’s controlled, and no real worry...

Model 2 trigger and cyl stop pins

Like I said in my original post, I had to wait until I got off shift. I work a 24 on/48 off shift. EDIT: forgot to say this I have the pistol almost fully disassembled and was working at removing the trigger when the problem arose. BMUr, it definitely in a state of disrepair. But this is...

Model 2 trigger and cyl stop pins

Okay, been a little frustrated with this Model 2 that's here. Are these pins tapered or peened in place? I need to remove the trigger because the sear edge is worn and won't keep the hammer back when cocked. Hammer side notch is crisp and sharp. I cannot get either pin to budge after...

LOL. I can't leave well enough alone, apparently. Looking at some of y'alls beautiful pistols, I got jealous :D.....I decided to re-do da' blue. 4 treatments of a ferrobronze solution that I went all "mad scientist" in making.

When a Timing Issue is Kinda Not a Timing Issue

First, thank you all for ID'ing my 1903 .32Long Hand Ejector. As mentioned in my first post, I had a timing issue, that now that I have gone through it, it's kinda an issue but kinda not. When I pull the trigger in double action, there is no timing issue. The cylinder locks up perfectly...

Info on .32 Long Hand Ejector

Got 'er done! It's not a perfect blue.....but I am okay with that. It is fully freed up and rust/gunk free. It does have a minor timing issue that I will tackle when I have the time and inclination to address. I am just looking at it from the standpoint of I got some great experience...

Info on .32 Long Hand Ejector

The only real cost to me is time. I normally work a 24 on/48 off shift, so I have a bit of free time off after I get the honey-do's done. I had a bunch of the refinishing stuff left over from another one I did for a friend. I totally understand your point, though. But hey, I love...

Info on .32 Long Hand Ejector

Thank you. When I got it, the cylinder release was frozen solid and the hammer took 3 seconds to drop back into position after pulling trigger. I opened it up, and other than gunk and a touch of rust, it was in pretty good shape. I'd put the barrel at 65-70%. I am completely restoring it...

Info on .32 Long Hand Ejector

So I picked up this at a pawnshop for 100.00. My intention was for cleaning it up on the outside and placing it in a glass case on the wall. It was frozen solid with rust. But with some gentle tapping with a brass drift and soaking in oil, I have been able to get it stripped down and...
