That's correct; I'm looking for one with NONE of the target options. Given that I wanted it to shoot, and given its apparent scarcity (and corresponding price), I guess I should be looking for a 28 instead. But the 27's are so much purdier!

In this area (Southwest PA), I'd say $250-$350 all else equal. One thing that might not be equal is that there are some interesting variants (in particular the S series short action) in the late 1940s that can add some value, though perhaps only a little in the condition described w/o original...
