Interesting, I took the mag release spring out of my shield 9mm when I first received it, to see if the mag button was ambidextrous. Popped right in, and out.

So what ever happened with this? Smith modified my barrel too because I was getting light strikes and ftf's with winchester white box. Premium ammo. and blazer worked fine, although on occasion, the primer would still indicate a light strike. I haven't had issues with the modified chamber, but...

shield magazines Still no 8 round shield magazines, which is exclusively what I use. Anyone want some 7 rounders in exchange for 8?

I'm getting tired with the lack of availability pertaining to Shield magazines. I'm not seeing any hope in sight. It's almost like they're not producing any, thus supply and demand is driving up the prices....I'm almost ready to trade in the shield.

I'll be happy to report the Shield is a fine defensive firearm....I took the pistol to the range today after receiving it back from Smith and Wesson last week. It now eats Winchester White Box like nobody's business. This gun is now 100 percent reliable. I was hitting bulls eyes out to 25 yards...

I'm not upset with the wait time, just kind of disappointed that they gave me a blank work order, and a hand done milling job, instead of just perhaps a new barrel. If I were the company, I would of at least included a new mag, or two for the hassle of buying a brand new defective gun and...

Just a quick update on my faulty brand new shield. I received it back from Smith today with a blank repair order. I had to call in to see what was done to the gun. The rep tells me it had faulty parts. They modified the barrel chamber, and replaced the striker assy. It's now in spec. Who knows...

I'm putting off sending it, I've got the label...They're also sending a new striker assembly, but customer service indicated it could take 2.5 weeks to get the part. I'm really hoping it's the assembly, so I don't have to ship the pistol back.

Hrm, I doubt it's a limp wristing aspect. I've put 150 rounds of other ammo down range without a problem. Also, I'd expect a stove pipe, or something. I'm also not a newb shooter. So if yours eats it like candy, here's hoping I just have a weak striker spring, or something.

I buy whatever target ammo is available, especially in these days of ammo shortages. I plan on gearing up to reload soon, but until then.... In my mind, the gun should eat whatever I feed it. None of my other pistols have ever been picky, why should this one be the exception? Especially since...
