Questions on a triple lock target

I mentioned this pistol on the Forum before. It was one of those sent to North Carolina where it languish for over six years. I finally got it back and I've replaced the missing parts and have several questions. The serial number is in the early 14000 range. Does anyone have an estimate of the...

    Source for a Hand

Thanks everyone Does anyone have an email for David Chicoine's son? I will query him about the missing hand, but as one of you mentioned, I'm not optimistic. Thanks for the information on Horace Ford. I will contact Fords about working on the pistol.

    Source for a Hand

Response I sent the gun off several years ago to a restorer who then had a stroke. After four years and many emails, the pistol was finally returned to me this week. No restoration work had been done, but it had been disassembled and put back together. Whoever assembled it did not put in all of...

    Source for a Hand

I need a hand (the part that rotates the cylinder) for New Century (triple lock) in the 14,000 range. I looked at Numrich's listing for the Model 1917, but am not sure the one they offer will fit a New Century Model.

Thanks for the information about the number of 4 inch Pre-Model 29 with 4 inch barrels. I took possession of the pistol today. It is a four screw frame. It has very nice coke bottle grips, and about 95% finish. I will send for letter tomorrow. I have two questions. The serial number is...

    Correct Grips for a Pre-Model 27

I just acquired Pre-Model 27 in the 131,000 serial number range. The Catalog lists the year of manufacture as 1954-55. It has the standard magna grips with silver medallion, but there are no diamonds around the screw hole. Are these the correct grips?

    Price Check on Pre-Model 27

I'm being offered a pre-Model 27 in the S90,000 serial number range. It has no box or papers. It has the 3.5 inch barrel. Finish would rate in the 95-97% range with just high edge wear. Grips are the correct magnas. The seller is asking $1600. I know that the 3.5 inch barrels generally are worth...

Question on Grips on a Pre 27 Magnum

I was looking at a nice Pre-Model 27 recently. The serial number dates it to 1951. The grips are the standard magnum grips. The owner allowed me to remove the grips. Neither grip is numbered; no stamps, no penciled numbers. I am assuming that the grips are replacement, but I am not sure what...

    Question on a Pre-Model 27

I was following a Pre-Model 27 with a 3.5 inch barrel on GunBroker recently. I quit bidding when it hit $1200. It went to sell for $1750! Are the Pre-27's, especially in the shorter barrel lengths that desirable? Obviously someone thought so, and paid that much for the privilege of owning it...

Question on a Model 67 Yolo County Sheriff

I recently acquired a nice Model 67 with five inch barrel and magna grips in excellent condition. It is marked on the left side of the frame "Property of Yolo County Sheriff #170". I paid $400 for the pistol. I know that Yolo County includes part of Sacramento. I would appreciate any...

Question on Parts for A Spanish Copy M&P

I'm helping a local gunsmith. A customer brought in Spanish copy of an M&P (5 inch barrel, half moon front sight, balloon head ejector, word Espana on the top of the barrel). The customer managed to lodge three slugs in the barrel, the third one jammed the cylinder shut. The customer really...

    Questions on 32 Regulation Police

A local gun shop just acquired a pre-war Regulation Police pistol chambered for 32 S&W Long. The serial number is in the 380,000 range. It is all matching with 4.25 inch barrel. Finish would rate about 95% with high edge wear. Grips do not have the medallions and show little wear. The asking...
