    M&P Shield 9mm breakdown

Thanks, I see what we're talking about now. I wasn't aware it was supposed to be touched during a regular field strip. Mine's silvery with coating on it which I suppose is meant to be yellow, but it's no banana.

    M&P Shield 9mm breakdown

What yellow lever? I don't see one on my 9mm Shield. Everything is black or silver. What am I missing? I use the method in post 2 for almost all my semi-auto pistols. Some need the trigger pulled, some don't. Not really an issue unless you forget to confirm the gun is unloaded, in which case...

    Keep up with rounds used

So if a part breaks you know how long it lasted. I just keep a rough count based on empty ammo boxes thrown out.

    M&P 9c vs Shield 9

Comparing from the Glock & S&W websites, the M&P9c looks like it's sized between the G19 and the G26, while the Shield is thinner than the G26. It's confusing that the terms compact, subcompact and pocket depend on the manufacturer's definition.

Displaying guns-Does anyone still have open gun displays?

RING RING RING Caller: Good Morning Mr. Trusting, this is Joe Rhunn from Whee Fleasum and Rhunn Home Insurance. I'm just going through your claim, and I see you are asking $12,000 for some stolen firearms. Please could you clarify how they were secured? Trusting: I kept them on display in a...

    Need ammo advice

Not all Tulammo is steel cased either, check the boxes. I had one steel cased round FTF out of many hundreds fired, and that may have been due to my sloppy magazine loading, but I now buy Brass case unless the steel is cheaper. At the time it was, but prices seem even now. I've never had a brass...

Texas DPS ditches M&P and returns to SIG

I've only been shooting since September 2009, and I can only afford so much ammo a month! I shoot about 200-300 rounds per visit, and try to go once a month, so I'm guessing I'm up to about 1600-200 total rounds fired so far. I'd fire a lot more if it wasn't so hard to get 22LR...

    Definitive Answer

My bad, I misread the post. The ejector on my Shield wobbles if I push on it, so I don't push on it. :-)

    Strange Gun Shop Experience

I was thinking that. A DC and CC may look the same, but are totally different. There's a food store round here, Winco, that won't take credit cards, so you have to use debit, cash or check. I'm happy to show my driver's license so they anyone see my picture, but have never seen the info on the...

    Definitive Answer

Can you define wiggle? Just checking my M&P9 Shield as I write. The ejector moves in a horizontal plane if I exert sufficient pressure on it with my finger. It has to move to work properly. Is this what you call wiggle, or is it looser than that? The outgoing case is flung aside by the hook...

    M&P Shield .40 Blow Up

So what am I missing here? Is 40 S&W the same pressure as 9mm, or not? Rastoff, I can see from your posts that you are knowledgeable, can you explain a bit more why the .40 is called a 'hot' round if it's not to do with high pressure? I see where you get the 35Kpsi, but my understanding is...

    M&P Shield .40 Blow Up

As I understand it, .40 S&W rounds are very high pressure, more so than .45 or 9mm. It's pushing the envelope to the limit, so to speak. If one of those goes off outside the firing chamber, especially in a plastic gun, it's going to cause a mess. Good idea NOT to use reloads, if reloads might...

    i don't like cities

In the UK it's easy, it has to have a cathedral or it isn't a city. In the US, 50,000 population seem to be enough to be called a city. Where I used to live in London UK, that's a small suburb.

Texas DPS ditches M&P and returns to SIG

That makes at least 150,000 rounds fired, split between 60 pistols, 2,500 each. One would hope that any problems encountered with shooting technique would be resolved by the instructors before placing the blame on the gun. Presumably the Sig worked fine for everyone, or they'd be reporting...
