Love my 617. Put a fiber optic front sight on it and got a Speed Beez speed loader and loading block and man it is a fun, accurate gun. I prefer the rubber grips myself. Have fun with your 617 and buy plenty of ammo. You’ll probably need it.

Love my 340pd. Carry it in a #3 Uncle Mike’s pocket holster. Great pocket carry setup IMO.

I recently bought a 686-4 with 6” barrel to hunt whitetail and black bear this fall. What ammo does everyone recommend?

I have a 340PD and a 649. The 340pd weighs just over 11 ounces and works great for summer carry in my shorts pocket. The 649 is all stainless. Both are 357/38. The front sights on both of these are pinned and can be changed. I have XS Big Dots on both. Works for me!

Any thoughts on the S&W 620? Looks like a 357 version of the Mountain Gun. Can’t find much about it.

LGS has a new 69-2 1/2”, a new 66-8 4”, a used 60-15 3”, and a used 60 pro series ($150 more than the 60). (It has a trigger job, fake stag grips, and a gold bead front sight. Yes gold, not brass. Thx for the replies. I guess I should have mentioned that I live in the east. Black bear and critters of the two legged variety would be the worst I would encounter. Willing to spend $500-$1000 to get one good woods gun.
