There are places where the backward ballcap makes sense. If you're over 5'5" moving briskly through a ship you really need to see above your head. I can tell you that in a skull vs steel contest the steel always wins. :cool:
I have a '50s vintage K-22 that I bought just to have an example of the old skool S&W polish & bluing. It had some dawgawful MOP stocks on it and just enough honest wear on it to knock it out of the mega $$$ collectibles market... but the finish that is there is stunning!

I had a Milwaukee 12V NiMh 1/2" cordless that I rode hard for years till both batteries gave it up. Milwaukee had long since moved on so the move to Ryobi was made.
