Remove the die from the 550 before attempting to remove the bullet.

I personally like the 7 station press as I prefer to expand and drop powder in two separate stations. I have a Hornady LnL AP and Dillon RL550 so I will probably not get one.

That would be the die sets from Redding for progressive presses that have already have a expander/powder dispenser die. In all due respect I think you are barking up the wrong tree telling people to try not expanding pistol cases.

I actually like the internal lock on my 640. My grandkids are at the house every weekend and I lock and trust the lock just in case the gun gets found even if it isn't loaded. I see others concerned about the lock engaging during a fire fight but what about the opposite? Anyone have a valid...

I don't crimp either. Maybe you are over crimping and making the seated bullet loose.

Good point, carbon is an extremely hard material and can scratch the sizing die.

I believe the Viht load data uses CIP standards which is more than the 35K PSI of the SAAMI standard in the .357 Magnum.

The Hornady #9 manual has separate sections for loading .223 and 5.56X45.

well I just finished prepping 750 5.56X45 cases so.....

You can use Frog Lube on your dies. Protects them and make cleaning a snap.

What has this has situation done? In the past year I bought 4 lbs of Titegroup, 4 lbs of HS-6, and 8 lbs Hodgden Universal. Not to mention I'm set on magnum revolver and rifle powder for a few years. Some 4 lb jugs of Power Pistol and one lb jugs of Bulls Eye and Unique recently came available...
