    617-6 Dawson FO Front Sight

I am experiencing the problem that many have on this forum of increasing inability to see the front sight within the rear sight other than as a blob. When purchased about 8 years ago, the black front sight on the 617 was OK. Later it was painted orange as my eyes aged. Now it is just an...

    Dremeling factory Hogue Grips

I don't like the finger grooves on the factory Hogue grips on my K and N frames but I like them otherwise. Has anyone dremeled down or completely removed the raised finger ridges? I am curious whether it could be done without destroying the grip, particularly how the end result looks. Thanks.

    S&W 617 in 4 or 6 in. barrel ????????

For pure target shooting and competition, the extra 2 inches of sight radius makes a big difference. However, if it is for practice for a 4 inch revolver, it makes more sense to have a 4 inch since it will carried, drawn and shot at closer distances and better replicates a 4 inch centerfire...

    63 or 617

As I said, it is for practice for centerfire revolvers, J to N. Off range manipulations and dry fire are important but actual trigger time is also important. I think the skill set and muscle memory are extremely transferable. 95% of my rifle practice are with .22's and since doing so my...

    63 or 617

I did a search and didn't find anything. Does anyone have any comments, preferences or experiences with one or both. I am thinking of getting one as a primary practice gun to support a primary revolver with emphasis on the draw, reloading with speedloaders and everything else I would do for...

    Model 19 Concealment Grips

Spegel Boot Grips! Or, if you can find the discontinued Uncle Mike's Boot Grips that are I believe the same but rubber and very inexpensive. The originals are much nicer however. I have both.

N Frame revolvers- too big for small hands?

As one poster mentioned, trigger reach on N-frames are longer than K-frames. I have medium to large hands but not long fingers. The factory Pach's are OK but Spegel Boot Grips are best. I can shoot them in the traditional way at the first crease of the trigger finger but it doesn't feel...

    M-19 grips?

Spegel Boot Grips are great; if you can find them the Uncle Mike's boot grips (no longer made) are the rubber version of Spegels; lastly, Eagle Secret Service grips are very similar to Spegels. I have all three on N, K and J frames.
