    Found At The Range Today.................

I shot 3D archery tournaments for several years from the 90's through mid 2000's. We had a speed limit of 280fps and had to shoot through a chronograph to verify speed. I had a friend that would bring his son who was probably 8 at the time and the boy would shoot in the youth class. He was not...

How often do you look at Gunbroker and GI??

I rarely get on GB anymore but when I was hunting much more I did frequent it almost daily, especially when I had an itch for a particular gun. This was back in the mid 2000's. I didn't even own a computer but borrowed my wife's work laptop to browse the site. This was in the days when smart...

Update to First Hunting Trip in Fifteen years

I will try to make that happen today. I took quite a few pics. Most were of that beautiful Texas landscape but got some hunting pics.

Update to First Hunting Trip in Fifteen years

LOL! I had to go back and look at how I worded it! I was typing the post on 3.5 hours sleep after riding/driving 1500 miles. We pulled the trailer with the Mule and dog boxes on the trailer with a Chevy 1500 with a 3.0 Duramax diesel. The Duramax got around 11 MPG. My friend had bought it 2...

Update to First Hunting Trip in Fifteen years

This is to update my post about my first hunting trip in fifteen years. My friend Keith and I left out of NC on November 10th for Big Spring, TX and arrived on the 11th. We took 8 pointers and 1 setter and pulled a trailer with a Kawasaki Mule. Roughly 1500 mile, one way. We arrived at another...

First Hunting Trip in Fifteen years

As a young boy I started out hunting with my grandad and squirrel was our quarry. Soon started dove hunting which then led to a long love of waterfowl hunting. I had a couple of buddies to hunt with and we hunted beaver ponds, flooded timber in creek bottoms and also hunted coastal NC around...

    Metal building/Pole barn shop experiences.

Bald1, mine is the style you have in the original post. I had a 20 x40 wood frame work shop that had a shelter on one side but hurricane Matthew dropped a tree on it in 2016. Thankfully insurance paid a very nice claim. I was able to demo the frame and save the concrete. I ended up getting...

    Anyone own a Browning BLR?

I've got one also but has a standard blue receiver. My first girlfriend bought it for me for Christmas when we were both 17, 37 years ago. She worked at a local Department Store in the shoe department. Best Christmas present I ever got from any girlfriend! Very accurate and fun to shoot. Shot a...

Poll: Are you a cat person?

I always hated cats growing up. We moved into our new house in 2008 with real hardwood floors that I installed. The wife brings home a tiny kitten that had been abandoned by her mother and had been injured. I told her it would have to stay on the screen porch. No way a cat was getting fur on my...

Recommended ammo to break in 15-22?

I have the same type of trigger reset with my 15-22 and it doesn't bother me. Mine does seem to be picky with ammo. I can't shoot hollow points in mine without a FTF. I shoot round nose 40 gr with no problems. Standard or high velocity work equally well.

    FRUIT CAKES

Very funny! Being from NC myself, I'm familiar with Aunt Betty's Cafe. In relation to your signature, I used to know a guy from Lowland, NC (near Hobucken) that would use that expression on regular basis! Don't hear "momicked" around my area of Benson.

    Fail to feed

I bought a box of 525 Federal 36 grain cartridges with my new 15-22. I mounted my red dot sight and went to sight it in without cleaning it first. I had too many FTF's to count on that first range time. I got a chance to take it down, clean and lube it but the Federal's still didn't cooperate. I...

Replaced my stock pistol grip:Almost messed up

I haven't posted in a while as I have been playing more golf than shooting but decided to get an M&P 15-22 to shoot economically. I love shooting my 5.56 M&P but it can get expensive. I went to my LGS's Black Friday sale and got the 15-22 with the 4x scope and bi-pod for $339. (The bare model...
