Okay - Bought the 15-4 - What grips and holster?

Thanks It is a shooter/CCW not a show gun. That is why I was thinking rubber grips - but the Hogue Monogrips (10000) look pretty big for this gun especially as a CCW. I though maybe the Pacs - Gripper or the Gripper Declerator would be a better choice? I looked at the Lobo pancake - I have...

Okay - Bought the 15-4 - What grips and holster?

I got it home and cleaned it up. It has been fired very very little has a bit of holster polish and a couple of slight freckles but it is in really great shape. Good timing and tight lock up. Probably 85%. It has the factory wood on it. Probably did okay at $350. I still want a shield...

Model 15-4 is this a good buy?

I am not a revolver guy but the LGS has a really nice Model 15-4 Snubby. There is only a faint drag line on the cylinder and a little polishing on the end of the barrel - like holster wear but not even worn through the bluing. The barrel is excellent and the timing seems fine. Locks up...

What Grips for a Model 49 for my wife? Suggestions please

Kirinite Wow those Kirinite Grips are really hot looking for a lady and the prices on the wood grips are fair. The Kirinite Grips are probably a little rich for this project I would have 1/2 the cost of the gun in a pair of grips. +1 on the silver dollar pancake. I have heard great...

What Grips for a Model 49 for my wife? Suggestions please

Holy Cow! Those 320 VZ Grips are awesome. I had looked that them several years ago for auto grips but ended up just putting rubber on it. Never knew they know made them in G10 for revolvers. Those are really really nice and next to indestructible. A very definite possibility.

What Grips for a Model 49 for my wife? Suggestions please

I found a blue S&W Model 49 Bodyguard 38 special (all steel) in about 90% condition - more from carry I would say than from being shot. There is only a faint drag-line on the cylinder - no cutting that I can see on the top strap. My wife really likes revolvers (she has a K frame) so I thought...

Possible gloat - 5903 SSV (short slide variant)

Thanks for the comments. I am really looking forward to shooting it. I think it will make a nice CCW. Need to find a quality holster to fit it that will not break the bank. Anyone know a reasonable custom maker that can fit this gun?

Possible gloat - 5903 SSV (short slide variant)

Thanks. Okay I will look around on the web to see who can make me a 6906 holster - I will also make sure it will fit the squared old style trigger guard - I had not even thought about that. I currently using Weapon Shield grease. I have used others in the past. The Weapon Shield grease seems...

Possible gloat - 5903 SSV (short slide variant)

Yesterday, I poked around Gander and spied and odd 3rd generation S&W - two tone slide, alloy frame, with the old style trigger guard, Novak sights, 15 & 17 round mag, black plastic S&W grips, trigger, slide release and bobbed hammer. SSV marked on one side. Looked to be 95% or better to me...

    Opinions - 9mm M&P Compact vs SW99 Compact

I would like some thought on my choice. I have a number of pistols and calibers. I am looking at getting a smaller 9mm for CC OWB I kind of narrowed it down to the M&P 9c (with the safety) in DA/SA or a SW99c in DA/SA. At one point I was leaning toward a Walther P99c but it is pretty hard...

3913TSW with Rail - who can make a holster?

I have been looking for a good 9mm CCW gun - I narrowed it down to the P239 and a 3913. I have been going back and forth for like 2 months. They are both nice - however, I have several 3rd generations and I guess the S&W just seemed more natural to me. Can't say anything bad about that...

    3rd Generation DA/SA to SA - Possible/Opinions

Okay Thanks, Got that clearer now. But could the hammer be modified to avoid being captured by the slide when it recoils. I am guessing the answer is no from the responses here - I guess it was kind of a dumb idea anyhow. Probably better off with a revolver that is SA. I have a...

    3rd Generation DA/SA to SA - Possible/Opinions

SA advange I believe a SA is safer since if you fire off horseback and the horse bucks/spooks if your finger is on the trigger (which it probably will be since you just fired) you could fire a second shot involuntarily. Whereas with SA you have to cock the hammer each time which would most...

    3rd Generation DA/SA to SA - Possible/Opinions

I have been thinking about carrying a gun when riding. I have several revolvers and several 3rd Generation S&Ws. I think I would prefer to carry a SA when on horseback to reduce the chance of a 2nd shot being fired if the horse decided spook (I am working on that but I would always want to be...
