I got it home and cleaned it up. It has been fired very very little has a bit of holster polish and a couple of slight freckles but it is in really great shape. Good timing and tight lock up. Probably 85%. It has the factory wood on it. Probably did okay at $350. I still want a shield though.

I was thinking of putting rubber on it. I love wood but almost always end up putting rubber on them. An older gun guy said this to me "Wood for show and Rubber for go" and I guess I tend to follow that advice.

I was thinking Pacmyer Decelerators - will they be to large for my K Frame 15-4 with the 2" barrel? I got big hands but don't want to go to large and loose some of the compactness of the snubby? I think hoque only make one rubber grip and that may be taller than the Pacs? Any thoughts?

Also, how would a Simply Rugged Pancake be for this gun?

Thanks,

Simply Rugged builds a concealable, comfortable holster and for grips try Herretts with a covered backstrap for your large hands.

Concerning grips, if it's a SB I'd go for the Pachmayr Gripper Professional and if it's a RB I'd try the Pachmayr Compac Professional. Both are relatively small.
The choice on holsters is unlimited. I like the Galco Combat Master but you need to decide first what style of holster you want.

My 15-4 came to me with a Hogue monogrip. I tried it and liked it. Also as Hogue was retired LAPD it seems appropriate. As for a holster I am using my tried and true pancake from the 1970s.

Grips: if for shooting-Hogue Soft Rubber Combat Grips
If for show and tell- Factory or Ivory/Stag

Holster: If for CCW-Lobo Pancake
If for show and tell- a name brand carved Threepersons with matching belt

P.S. with the "Holster Wear and "Freckles" and only 85% condition, you will never be invited to a REAL S&W Show and Tell Party, but you will always be welcome to "US MORTALS" shoot and tell party even if your Model 15 is a "Former Virgin" turn ring and all.

Thanks

It is a shooter/CCW not a show gun. That is why I was thinking rubber grips - but the Hogue Monogrips (10000) look pretty big for this gun especially as a CCW. I though maybe the Pacs - Gripper or the Gripper Declerator would be a better choice?

I looked at the Lobo pancake - I have not had any experience with his work so I was not sure on the quality. I have heard good things about the Simply Rugged holsters - but not sure how accessible the pancakes are for CCW - are they more of a field holster?
