Vietnam war US Model 10-5 round butt revolver

A Model 10 saved my butt in September 1967. The model has been a favorite of mine ever since!

will a model 17-2 safety shoot .22 shorts

It's the same deal as shooting 38 Spl in a 357 Magnum. If you shoot a lot of them fouling will build up in the chambers of the cylinder forward of where the 22 short case ends. That might make it difficult to chamber a long rifle until you clean out the fouling. As someone else mentioned, I...

What S&W revolver of yours has the smoothest action ?

Without a doubt it would have to be my 1973 Model 15-3. You hardly feel the cylinder rotate in double action and it is so crisp fired single action. It has never had any trigger work done on it but has been my go to target gun for years. So smooth and accurate!

    K22 difficult ejection

That was my first thought. Every new S&W .22 that I have was difficult to eject at first. After long use, they don't care what you feed them. Good luck with yours.

    Model 69 Test Drive

I got mine last Christmas and pretty much agree with the positive comments. It's a hoot to shoot. My wife also shoots it, but like the rest of us (including me) she finds it a hand full with full power loads. We practice with 44 spl and 44 mag reloads. It has been my experience that when the...

    J frame grips question

The factory grip on my 60-4 is rebated and takes HKS #36 speedloaders with no problem.

    Remington 870 Wingmaster barrel swap

One way interchangeability. I hate to differ, but there is nothing "cheap" about a Remington 870 Express, except the price. The only caution that I would give you has to do with putting a 3" chambered barrel on a 2 3/4'' receiver. Firing three inch shells in a 2 3/4" receiver can cause you some...

What did you get yourself for your Birthday and or Christmas ?

A Model 69. Recoil is brisk with full house loads, but hey, it's a 44. My wife shot it with only the full house factory loads giving her any discomfort. I love it.

    crimp or taper die?

It's my Sig 220 and it's my ammo. So, I roll crimp. I don't care what you do.

    crimp or taper die?

For semi autos a taper crimp is not the only way to go. I have a Sig 220 that absolutely does not like taper crimped ammo. With a slight roll crimp she runs like a dream. I guess you just have to know your own guns. Just because you roll crimp, it doesn't mean you have to try to close the case...

    .357 magnum

Today's generation. You just don't build up wrist strength on a video controller. Next they will be saying the .380 has too much recoil! Shoot that .357 Magnum, but be warned, it's habit forming.

my Viet Nam Veteran Combat Masterpiece Model 15-2

Thanks for your service. I also carried a personal firearm in Viet Nam. I had a 2" Model 19 that I carried in a shoulder holster under my flak jacket. Then one day our Company came into the rear for R&R and we were basically strip searched. All personal weapons were taken, tagged and it was...
