SHTF scenario - what ONE longarm would you grab?

    M-4, or folding stock AK.

    Holster question

Welcome to the forum. You should have no problem with that holster for your Model 66. I believe that holsters for K and L frames are pretty much dual use.

Heading to Boston, a little help?

I would suggest that you take public transportation to get around Boston. The "T" has several subway lines that will get you around town. If you are staying in Framingham you can take Route 9 east toward Boston by vehicle, and I believe you can pick up the T around Wellesley or Brookline...

Heading to Boston, a little help?

Any spring loaded, or double edged knife is classified as illegal. My city, Lowell MA has a local ordinance restricting any other knife with more than a 2 1/2 inch blade. Pocket folders with one edge are ok.

Heading to Boston, a little help?

You can spend a good deal of time in and around Boston itself, with Lexington and Concord not far if you enjoy history. If you have the time Cape Cod is good for sights and seafood. Gloucester, Rockport and Salem are north of Boston and interesting places to visit. If time allows you can...

    Mapping how Americans Talk

I'm from Massachusetts, where you buy beer at a "packie", a State Trooper is a "Statie" and the letter r is not pronounced as a rule. When I was a young teenager one of my neighborhood buddies came home from Ft. Hood on leave, and brought his girlfriend and her sisters from Texas home for a...

    Law Enforcement & The M&P

My PD switched to M&P 40 calibers, with detectives having the option of full size or compact models for carry. I have heard no negative feedback. I was skeptical at first, but have found the pistol to shoot and carry well. I like it enough to have purchased a full size 45 caliber model for...

    Police search without a warrant.

I have worked in law enforcement in Massachusetts for over 30 years. The only way we can enter a dwelling is by a warrant, consent, or exigent circumstances. Anyone who resides in a dwelling, owned or rented, has standing rights to an expectation of privacy. Consent must be granted, or denied...

Your first handgun that you carried as a Law Enforcement Officer.......

S&W model 10 HB 4 inch issued, a good shooter. I put Hogue grips on it with a Tex Shoemaker Break Front holster. We went to Beretta model 92 9mm pistols, then model 96 40 S&W. After that we switched to the Sig 229 DAK 40 S&W, and now the S&W M&P 40 S&W. I was able to purchase the Sig. All were...

Who else has dumped other platforms for the M&P

I have a full size M&P 45 which I like, and it carries well in a Crossbreed IWB holster. I have found that the Glock 32 which I have carried is the right combination of compact size, round capacity, and carry comfort in a Crossbreed or Milt Sparks Summer Special holster, IMHO.

Browning Hi-Power as a carry gun

I use a Milt Sparks Summer Special IWB for Hi-Power carry. It's comfortable for all day carry, thanks in part to the slim profile of the pistol. The holster also fits the 1911 pistols as well.

    $$$$686-2????

Great looking revolver. If you are happy with it that's all that matters. That 's the kind of revolver that will shoot .357 ammo all day. Enjoy it!

Not my favorite aspect of stainless.

Many years ago I used toothpaste on my stainless revolvers, with a soft tooth brush. It sounds dumb dumb but it took the burn marks off. It is a mild abrasive when it comes down to it. I had a model 64 & a model 66 that cleaned up well, sorry to say those revolvers are long gone, wish I kept them!

How do you get the powder residue off a stainless gun?

Many years ago I used toothpaste on my stainless revolvers to remove the burn rings from the cylinder. It sure sounded dumb, but it worked. The mild abrasive took the burn marks right off. There are more products available today of course.
