Hello everyone,
I bought one of the new S&W Classics in the model 29, the 29-10. Gorgeous and fun gun. Love shooting the revolver. I have about 250 rounds of 44 mag through it.
I recently heard from our rangemaster who is a collector of S&W revolvers that he has destroyed a couple of model...
Hello Everyone,
Thank you for all of your support and comments regarding my Performance Center 627 which had jammed up a couple times. I wanted to follow up and let everyone know how it all worked out. As I noted, the gun had jammed, froze solid, a couple of times so I sent it back. They...
Hello everyone,
I want to share my recent experience with my Smith and Wesson 627 Performance Center. This is a beautiful and expensive revolver which I paid $1240 for.
I bought it new in August 2010. I put 400-500 factory Federal 357 magnum rounds through it, and it developed a serious...
Thanks everyone,
The point about the front sight blade needing to be straight up is a big one. In my revolver, you can see it is canted to the left, and it not straight up. So even if you adjust for the windage with the rear sight, the front sight is still slanted.
I will be contacting S&W...
Canting or turning barrel to adjust windage point of impact?
This is all new information and very interesting.
It sounds like this could be a fix that needs to be done, or it could be just fine the way it is. It sounds like a number of folks have revolvers that are canted, and shoot just...
Hello everyone,

Wood Grips: Herrett Jordon Troopers or Nills
Thank you everyone for your input. Especially thank you to the kind folks who attached photos of their guns.
I think I will have to give the Nills a try, and maybe a set of pachmayr's as backup.
From a looks viewpoint, I really like the Nills in...
Wood grips: Jordon Trooper or Nill grips for 44 magnum recoil
Thank you everyone for all your input.
Mossyoak - I think you are on to something regarding conditioning your hand to take the recoil. I used to find shooting my 357 with checkered grips a bit much with full loads, but now it...
Hello,
This is my first post on the S&W Forum.
I recently bought a Model 29-10, which is the new "classics" line, with the 6.5 inch barrel, blue finish, wood grips.
I just put my second box of standard full power loads through it, Federal 240 gr. It was great fun, but significantly more...
