Thanks for the great info. Although the 27-2 is higher quality and much more desireable, the 27-6 seem's to be pretty uncommon.

I REALLY need to get "the book". Can anyone tell me the "dash history" on the Model 27? Seems like the 27-2's must have been made for many years. I see alot of them for sale. Can't find any info online about the later dash numbers.

Thank you for the info. Going to have to look for a box. I took another look at it this morning and it had it put back for me. Still have to grouse up a little more "play" money, but it seems like a whole lot of gun for $409 OTD.

Hello, I am considering the purchase of the above gun. The serial is BSH574*. Can anyone tell me the approximate DOB? It is in very minty shape, unfortunatly no box. Was also wondering what stocks are correct. It is now wearing SW rubbers. TIA -Mike

I would marry that STGW 57. Would hate to be on the wrong side of a half dozen of them. Thats the holy grail for me. Bought about 15 of the K31's for $86 OTD at Dunhams on a one day roadtrip. Only have a few keepers left love the walnut ones.

The only pretty pics I have ATM. Will get an S&W pic up soon.
