M&P9C Mag release for lefty belong on right side?

I'm left-handed. While practicing draws I notice that on a few occasions I have accidentally hit the mag release so that the mag comes loose. The release is of course on the left-hand side. It seems like this wouldn't be an issue for a right-hander. Should I consider switching the release from...

New M&P full size- is it me or the gun?

Bullitholz: If it is indeed me, what is causing me to shoot low and right? What do I need to watch for when I'm shooting to avoid this? It's weird I've shot the M&P9 fullsize just recently-- several times-- and never had this issue where I was consistently low and right. It's just with this...

New M&P full size- is it me or the gun?

Just tried a new M&P9 today (it has the night sights), and I found that I was consistently shooting about 3" low/right (about 4:30-5:00). I'm certainly not a great shooter, but I was consistently tearing up the same spot on the target. I switched over to my 9C and though I'm not as consistent...

Is a rotating cleaning rod necessary?

I have a Tipton cleaning rod that has a rotating handle. I don't like it. I really just prefer the inexpensive Dewey 1-piece brass rods. However, those don't have rotating ends... You just run 'em through. Does it really matter? Will it eventually mess up the rifling?

    Is S&W planning a .380 or .32 mouse gun?

Ruger and Keltec .380s are also hard to find. People are snapping them up. An even bigger problem with .380s is that there's almost no ammo left to buy. If that is ever rectified- and I've heard it might be this way the rest of the year- then I agree that Smith would be well-served in getting...

    Is S&W planning a .380 or .32 mouse gun?

I'm sure the PK380 will be a great gun, but it's twice as heavy and seems to be much larger than the LCP... not meant for pocket carry. I was wondering if/hoping that Smith was planning a .380 or .32 mouse gun to compete with the LCP and the Keltec.

    M&P 9 vs. Springfield XDM 9

I went through this same process and have come to this conclusion: Springfield and S&W both make good guns. Get the one that feels the best in your hand, the one that you pick up and say "ahhh..." If you have a chance to rent and fire both, it's always a good idea to do that. Chances are...

    Is S&W planning a .380 or .32 mouse gun?

Just wondering if anyone has heard whether S&W is planning a small carry .380 or .32 to compete with the Keltec P3AT and the Ruger LCP? I'm considering an LCP but if Smith is coming out with something, perhaps I'll wait...

Do most police carry compacts or service models?

Interesting feedback, thanks. Safearm, is the reasoning noted by Bullman why LE prefers the full size weapons? Also, I was surprised to see the Glock 19 not considered full size. Is a ~4" or 5" barrel the standard "duty size?" The reason I'm asking all this is that I have a compact ccw and am...

Do most police carry compacts or service models?

"Stupid question" here... Do police tend to carry service-size (4" barrel) .40s and 9s, or do they prefer the smaller compact models (e.g. 3" barrels). If service-size, why-- is it a matter of the larger gun having better accuracy / less recoil?
