Why the 9mm over the 40, or visa versa?

Thanks for the help. The gun stays where it is. Now do I buy the SD40 or the 40VE?

I'm not going to trade it. I love to shoot it, it shoots about a straight as any gun can. I'd just like to know what it's worth. The guy I bought it from tells me I stoled it.

Round, 4" barrel. Blued and square butt.

I have a .38 Model: 10-5. It looks like it just came out of the box. I'm thinking about the SD40, although I really don't want to trade it, I'm wondering what it's worth for a trade in.
