I recently came across a nice 686 no dash. My problem is that for normal shooting I prefer a smaller grip. I have many sets of earlier K frame standard grips, but they dont fit right. They overhang on the triggerguard side. Any ideas?
I agree that if it is cracked you wont get it back. For them to have you send it in tells me they already have a plan on compensating you in some way for it. They know it occurs so they arent bringing it back for research.
A 19 is on my list, but the gun and the money have to be right. I am sometimes too picky about the ones I choose to add to the collection. I had some nice N frames until the last divorce. The Walther collection had to go at that time also

I am trying to work on my j and k frame collection. I found a 12-2 in as close to perfect condition as possible, but no box or papers. The bottom dollar price is $500, which sounds a little high to me, but how often do you see them in this condition?
Help me make up my mind.
My most sought after so far was found a few weeks ago. I finally found a nice Model 35 that was in great condition that I could afford.
I wasnt disappointed at the range with it either. I put a better group together with it than my K22.
Off to the gunshows again this weekend. The next...
I collect what I want, not what others think I should. Right now I am working on one each of the model numbers for j and k frames. I doubt if a 16 will come along that I can afford. This didnt stop me from buying a like new postwar regulation police even though it really doesnt fit the...
No patent dates on the top of the barrel, four line address on the right side of the frame, does have the sliding hammer block.
I rechecked the sn and it is correct. All parts do match. What year was it shipped?
