    model 19 life expectancy

Don't worry about it! Proper cleaning and shooting 158 grain 357 loads in moderation equates to a long happy life together :)

    new Sig

Great set up. I have been considering a Sig for concealed carry & to rotate with the 638. You helped a friend & you had a great opportunity presented yo you. Good find & best of luck with it.

    Slide Stuck on 459

Hey W.E.G., The thread was extremely helpful. I was able to get the slide unjammed in less than 2 minutes. Thank you very much for your time & the link!:D

    Slide Stuck on 459

The slide on my 459 is stuck. This happened when I was assembling the pistol after cleaning. The slide is wedged between the metal slats behind the hammer and something within the slide mechanism. Any advise is very much appreciated.:)

    Model 638-3 Anybody Have One?

Same here, it is like my American Express card, I never leave home without it. I have a 638-3 with the lock, no issues with the exception of the finish chipping off. A dab of crazy glue does the trick over the areas that the finish has flaked off. My 638 is in my front pocket all summer when I...

    Model 66 used price?

I have a 2 1/2" 66-1 with the original box and papers, original grips, a pair of Uncle Mikes, a pair of Pachmyer and a Bianche pancake holster for $550 last year. I bought it from one of my oldest and closest friends, and he offered to reduce the price to $500, but I could not do that to him...

    EDC Gun Choice

After handling a Ruger LCP, I appreciate my 638 even more. This revolver is in my front pocket in an Uncle Mike's holster every day, unless I am carrying the 2 1/2 inch 66. I need to practice with the j frame, not as much with the 66. I also have a 459 9mm that is bulky, but fun to carry during...

    Refs on pocket pistol/revolver

The Kel-Tecs have vastly improved within the last few years, the manufacturer dilegently corrected the problems. The PF-9 is the smallest 9mm they offer, and is usually sold out. Bud's Gun Shop seems to have the best prices and many customer reviews. A Smith Airweight in 38+P is still hard to...

    Refs on pocket pistol/revolver

Lots of good options. You cannot beat a J frame airweight for everyday concealed carry. My 638 is in my front pocket as I write this. For a semi auto, I am seriously considering a Ruger SR9c; not the most ideal for pocket carry, but enough gun to shoot relatively easy and rugged. My second...

Cylinder "binding" on one chamber on 625-8 PC

Check the star for any nicks and/or burrs. If they are present, I recommend taking it to a gunsmith to remove the nicks and/or burrs. Good luck.

    M638 for a Newbie?

I have a 638 and I think it is a great carry revolver. I know a few women who carry Lady Smiths (model 60's) in their purse and on their hips with winter clothing, and do not mind the recoil of .357's because of the increased weight of their guns. The 60's are pricier, but worth the investment...

Combat Magnum snubs, still using one?

I carry my 2.5 inch 66-1 fall, winter and spring, and my 638 during the summer months. Either +p's or 158 grain .357 for the 66-1.

    Idiot at CCW course.

My friend carelessly pointed a loaded gun at me, and I exclaimed to him "watch where you are pointing that thing", and he replied, "my finger was not on the trigger". I will not go shooting with him again since he does not adhere to the basic safety rules/habits. I have a good idea where you...

    5-shot, 6-shot, 7-shot

sdg380, those are some beautiful revolvers! I, like you, started with one pistol, and now I have three in two months. I started with a 66-1, and I put on UM's grips as well, and purchased a 638 five shooter. I purchased a 459 9 mm S&W as well since I could not resist the price. A 649 is next...

    S&W 638

I am having problems uploading images and hope to have it sorted out soon. I can't wait to post photos of my 638 and accessories.
