I guess there's something to be said for "shot very little, carried every day" I ordered this M-10 from Bud's on a lark knowing anything was possible. This is one of the Aussie trade in police revolvers. I am very happy with it after a little bit of clean up she is a keeper!
options...
I gave my then fiancé a Lady Smith holding +P' .38's as the FH .357 are a bit much for her. Now Mrs. Hill carries a 9mm Shield with the thumb safety in a holster "purse". She can handle the piece quite well for a little lady and she keeps the snubby around as a back up...
Never leave home without it...
Always have my 642 Air-weight loaded with Golden Saber +P in a pocket holster. In addition, I will occasionally carry a M&P 9c loaded with Federal 147 HST or a Colt Commander loaded with 185 gr Golden Saber...depending on time of year and my mood...But always have...
And I thought it was a so called safety issue...like all heavy triggers, especially on a gun without a manual safety, keeps those AD's to a minimum and the legal issues that goes with it.
I realize many of you are ok with the new S&W's MIM and all...to me it's like playing a Mexican Strat, I mean sure they work just fine but...nah...so in the spirit of this attitude I was fortunate enough to find and afford a pre-lock 686-1 with 4" barrel and 629-1 with 6" barrel...both are in...
It's more than the ILS...
The ILS is litigated...that alone bothers me whether or not it is a functional issue...I've heard unsubstantiated stories...but then there is the MIM factor...yes I know it saves time and money...and is supposed to be as straong or stronger then the forged...I have had...
No lock please...
I could kick myself for the S&W revolvers I have sold in the past...all years ago...I only managed to hang on to a model 60 snubby I purchased back in '91...then today I see a 686-1 and a 629-? prelocks both for 1250.00 OTD and in excellent condition...did I really need them...
It's a litigated safety and I'll have none of it...and no MIM parts please. I know, I know, I've heard all about how great modern metalurgy is and that MIM is OK...I say BS...I've had too many parts fail on SA 1911's too trust them. I'll let the future boys (and Girls) enjoy the benifits of this...
You and me both...I really hate to think of the ones I'll never get back. I am a little disturbed with this locking thing and have refused to buy any Smith's with it...mabey I don't have all the information but it strikes me as "Litigated safety" and I have little regard for poor training.
