I'm from Arkansas now living in Tennessee. Both of which are good states to live in if you like your gun rights. Im sorry for your liberty loss. As for the slippery gun dealers, if I get any sense of dislike or mistrust about a gun deal whatsoever, I don't do business with that person or...
Thanks for the input, guys! Im pretty sure im going to put the conversion kit on my Springfield Loaded 1911-A1. It was a gift from my Dad who has since passed away. He was a huge fan of the 44 Auto Mag, so I think he would approve of my hopping-up of the gun he gave me. Now to find some brass...
I have a 3" 629-1 .44Mag and an 8.375" 460 XVR. Factory loads in my 44 have violent recoil while my hottest handloads in my 460 are much more managable. I absolutely love them both. When I got the 460 I was torn between it and the 500. My gunsmith/armorer buddy reccommended I get the 460...

Ok. So on further looking, I see that S&W 1911MODELS are specified by both Clark Customs and Johnny Rowland. Still would like feedback from anyone who has experience with these conversions. I realize that I don't need 460 power in my 45, but I really want it... so...
I love my wheelguns. However, I really want a semi auto to carry as a backup while hunting in hog territory. So, I'm considering converting my Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 to 460 Rowland. Anyone have any experience with 460 conversion kits on S&W 1911models? Clark Customs kits are specified for...
Will do. Thanks. I happen to have a few pounds of 4227. I've been using it for my 444 Marlin loads with good results. Do you use magnum or standard primers with your 4227 loads?
I was just wondering if anyone else out there is handloading loads for the 460 Magnum. I'm relatively new to handloading/reloading and I'm using a load that works really well in my 460 XVR with an 8 3/8" barrel.
I shot a small doe with it this season and I could literally put my fist through...
not likely
S&W cust svc would not give me a definite answer when I asked them about firing my 460 XVR without the muzzle brake. They said it was designed to be used with the muzzle brake and do not recommend firing without it.I asked if it was safe to fire without and that's what they would not...
last summer I purchased my first Smith and Wesson. It's a 460 XVR 8 3/8 inch barrel. Mounted a Nikkon FXR scope on Warne mounts. Took two does with it at about 60 yds. I'm hooked. Rifles will probably be collecting dust next season.
