You're Not Buying Anymore Guns

Hey , it's not my fault. We were on the family road trip , and she said " there's a gun store , turn around so your father can look " .

How many guns have you bought since your better half first insisted that you are not buying any more guns? I count seven.:-)

Oh, no, my "better half" has NEVER said anything about me buying firearms!

In fact every time I leave the house to go to a gun show she hands me the check book and says, "Hope you find something!"...

As near as I can figure it the count would be 17. could be one or two more. The last 10 or so she just rolled her eyes slowly shook her head and sighed deeply. I'm pretty sure I wasn't fooling her any more. But she never really minded. It was just that she didn't understand

I lost count 30 plus years ago and she stopped saying no more about 20 years ago. I guess with time things have kind of worked out.

Fortunately, my wife would never say anything like that.

Admittedly, the most recent purchases were the results of a mission to find a revolver that she would enjoy.

Yes, I ended up with a couple of the rejects. :o

However, in the final analysis the mission was a success.

This thread reminds me of a conversation I had with a cousin of mine in Dallas a few weeks ago. He said he had his guns out on the bed and was going through them deciding what to keep and what to sell, his wife walks in and says to him " You do not need anymore guns you have 35 already, he said "No I don't" and she says yes you do I just counted them! He says, " Then you didn't count all of them". I'm sure it didn't go well after that.

Mrs. doesn't concern herself with my guns. Should she ever ask, I'll open the safe, let her look to her heart's content. Point is, she knows I have guns, and she knows there will be more. About the only time the subject ever comes up is if she's watching a TV show and there's a gun involved. She'll occasionally ask, "Do you have one of those?" If I do, I'll tell her. Too lazy to lie about it.

2hawk - Don't ask, don't tell. Works for me.
Exactly! That's my key phrase for everything about guns!, my next key phrase, On a need to know basis! ;)
