    38 Special factory LEO duty ammo in 1959?

    Both WW and Remington had "Hi-Speed" loads in that era and some were issued or even privately purchased by "Gunnies" of the time. Metal Piercing loads were available as well as the the 200 Gr. "Manstopper".

    US Military M1911 Disposition

    My Dad came home from the 1960 Nationals at Perry with an "X" prefix four digit serial numbered one from the DCM. It was later stolen from one of my brothers.

    You may find John Taffin's article in the December '22 issue of GUNS magazine of interest. Searching this site will keep you busy for days on the subject too! Good luck and keep your powder dry!

    The "perfect" rifle powder?

    FWIW- Rem . 40XB "Factory Loads" in 3 of mine were: 4895 in a .223 and a 6x47, 3031 in a Swift.

    Remington I get great accuracy from Remington bolt guns too, but out of the box 40X's!
