I'm thinking about getting a Burris II. There coming out with a Burris III that has a adjustable brightness and 3 dot or 8 dot this summer. I bought the wiegan mount for it. I can order direct and get a good deal. I may wait for the Burris III.

I shot my 617 today for the second time. I went and looked at mine. It looks like yours. Yes, it's lead and powder build up. That round spot on yours looked really bad until I looked at mine and noticed it was the screw hole.

Weatherby, does that gun have a gold bead front sight. My friend has a 48 with two cylinders and a gold front bead.

Mine was a Pre 25 5 screw (1956). Since then a 625-3 4", 610-3 4" and now a 625-2 5" on the way.
