I'm looking for a reflex sight for my 617 to practice for matches. I have a ultra dot Pan-AV on my Marvel 1911. I like it alot. Thinking of putting a lower height and compact sight on my 617. Looking at a Burris FastFire II. A Doctor would be nice but I don't want to spend that much. I don't want to go cheap either. I can get a FastFire for $177.00 Anybody used these?

The FastFire's have some pretty good reviews, and $177 one of the best prices I have seen for one. The only thing that makes me hesitant about the FastFire is that I think they only warranty it for 1 year, whereas Ultradot's are warranted for life.

Thanks, I will look into that warranty. The low price is from a ffl that sells out of his house.

Is there other good cheaper sights out there?

I think a used Cmore on an Allchin mount is the only way to go if you really want to be serious about competing. This setup will run you $150 for a used optic and $50 for a new mount. It gets the dot as low as you can on the revolver and has a bright dot, replaceable dot modules to change the dot size and a huge field of view.
