I have always trained with an external thumb safety so I prefer platforms that offer that to me. What also drew me to the M&P line was that the grip angle and size of the grip was very close to the Browning Hi-Power which is one of my favorite platforms.
Some people don't care for external...
I was excited by the offer until I got this message:
Error:The firearm model is not eligible for this promotion in your city or state
The fine print says that if you are in Illinois that you can only get 10 round magazines and not the 17 round magazine. I resubmitted for the 10 round magazines.
I've never been a fan of the look of the Glock or the way that it pointed for me. When I finally decided to move from hammer fired handguns to striker fired I tried everything on the market. Before I rented my first couple of guns I was pretty sure I was going to end up with the XDM. Decent...
I'm glad that they are trying to address the problem. From a production standpoint, they may have a cost advantage in standardizing the trigger across more models.

I also prefer the safety and don't consider myself "gun dumb". The bottom line is that I cut my teeth 30 plus years ago on single action guns like the hi-power. I am trained to sweep the safety off. I also am of the mind that the trigger safety is not sufficient as it is too easily defeated...
I changed out the trigger on my fullsize for the Apex polymer. It pinches. I do like the minimal take up but could do without the pinching.
I have not changed the trigger on my 9mm Shield. That trigger does feel better than the Apex polymer and on a carry gun I can deal with the extra take...
On my Shield I put in only the Apex sear and the trigger pull went from 8.5 pounds to 5 pounds. I also polished the trigger bar.
On my full size I started out with a trigger pull at 8 pounds 2 ounces. I decided to put in the Apex FSS with polymer trigger. I kept the stock trigger return...
