decided to change the huge wood grips off my old model 22a and it seems no one on the planet but S&W makes grips for that gun. ordered a set of S&W "Soft Touch Target Grips" for $34 delivered and turns out they are cheap hard plastic. bummer.
got the check today. again, can't say enough about the customer service i received from the people at S&W during this, but i gotta admit that confidence is low for getting another. probably get the ruger 10-22 target tactical. not an ar platform but a pretty cool gun and i'm pretty sure it'll...
took a full refund (gun cost, tax and background check) from S&W. Can't complain about the customer service. Still may get another. Undicided at the moment.
my return label didn't get here either. last two times they emailed the label but mailed this one. called em this morning and was told they are having problems getting return labels out. said they will mail another. will wait another week and see.
In a previous thread i noted that i am returning mine to the factory for a third time (DTU series). I may have the option of a replacement gun or refund. I really like the gun but have a bad taste about them at the moment. How good are the newer ones. Anyone having problems???
After the second trip the feed issues were gone. several hundred rounds and no problems at all until this. I tried some "cheap stuff" in the beginning because my Ruger 10/22T, S&W 22A and Model 41 shoot it just fine, had a lot on hand. Then tried Winchester Super X and then CCI Mini-Mag...
two times back for feed issues that they resolve. Just as I'm finally starting to love it and it blows an extractor.
hate to give up on this thing but damn.
that what i'm using now. S&W sent two shorty's back the first time. shot great when it came back and has since started bending a bullet trying to feed. has gotten worse, one every 20-30 rounds. love this thing. hope they can get it right.
