RUNNING A CORDLESS DRILL ON HOUSE CURRENT

Switching power supplies Ham Radio suppliers like AES have switching power supplies that deliver 5-15VDC @ 30Amps for probably less than you would pay for a couple sets of batteries. Switching: Ham & Amateur Radios - Equipment, Parts and Supply | AES --John R.

    New army .44 revolver

Another Remington advantage... One other 'advantage' of the Remington is the ability to quickly change cylinders. One can keep an extra cylinder loaded and quickly change it for the empty one...not quite as easy with a Colt. I have both types and each have their good points. I like the...

    Mod-29 no dash

Actually 1958 or '59 is probably the date. I hit the wrong key on the date when I typed it. He was very proud of this gun and it was always his favorite. I loaded some 240 grain simis over 8 grains of Unique to try it out and easily picked off shotgun clays at 50 yards with it. Great shooter!

    Mod-29 no dash

When my brother passed his wife handed me a couple of his pistols in brown paper bags. One of them was his 44 magnum which I believe he purchased new around 1969. It is a Model 29 s/n s 1877XX 6 1/2" blue, with what I'm pretty sure are 'coke' grips. As he kept it in a holster there is a bit...

    Any Lowe's employees here?

I was a Zone Manager / Assistant Store Manager in Marshall Texas for about three years. It's a pretty good organization as retail big box stores go. Insurance was BCBS and I believe they have a 90 day waiting period after you become full time. Pay close attention in training and learn to do...

WA5JR Here... Some of the best vintage equipment I ever operated were the Collins 75A4 Receivier with matching KWS-1 transmitter. My current station has a Drake pair, R-4B / T-4XB, W-4, and MN-2000 which is my vintage rig beside a Kenwood TS-850SAT. Two amps are available on line as well, a...

Portable GPS: Tom Tom or Magellan?

Another vote for Garmin. Mine gets used extensively making customer service calls for a Propane Company in rural East Texas. Even most small dirt private roads are in the system.

    Light 44 Mag loads

8 grains of Unique under a 240g JHP has served me well for years. Very pleasant load to shoot and very accurate.

Suggestions on a good pair of shooting hearing protection?

Sound pressure level and the dB scale Actual sound pressure "power" is reduced by half every 3dB just as in RF (radio frequency) power. Going from 27 to 33 dB would result in only 1/4 the level reaching your ears. Since the ear's response is non-linear you don't actually perceive the reduction...
