    Girlie Cars

I bought a 55 Nash Statesman for $100 from my grandfather in 1970. It was a 6 cylinder, twin carb, 3 speed and overdrive. I drove it once a month or so and ended up selling it because I had a family and couldn't afford to fix it up. It was a tuna boat and I've never admitted to owning before now!

    Your worst vehicle?

I bought a 74 Fiat 128, low miles, second hand in 76. Not a bad car until the accelerator cable broke. Left me stranded in downtown Plattsburgh NY. Installed a new cable and that winter was driving up the interstate and hit two potholes at 55 almost simultaneously, blew out both front tires...

    Your worst vehicle?

My friend had an old Plymouth, 53 if I remember correctly, 6 cylinder that was always running like ****. He got pissed when he was stranded on the side of the road and when he got it running again he started it up and placed a brick on the accelerator and went into the house. About three hours...

    Your worst vehicle?

I've had a similar thought now and then. I bought a 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty, with automatic and the power stroke diesel. I wanted diesel and researched the least repaired vehicle. After I purchased it the trans went, then the power steering pump which also powered the brakes, then a piston...

Can a cracked forcing cone be repaired?

Another possibility, and I thought there'd be no hope of shooting it again with the original barrel. Thanks it's something I'll consider.

S&W Model 29-2 date of manufacture

I've posted a couple pictures. The gun is mechanically perfect, no blemishes in the finish. The cleaning swab may not be original. I've read elsewhere that the swab had brass threads.

Can a cracked forcing cone be repaired?

Thanks for your reply. I have other shooters and will probably re-install the old barrel for a wall hanger.

Can a cracked forcing cone be repaired?

Very interesting take on the repair. I'll have to consider cost versus value as a shooter or a wall hanger. I have other shooters. Thanks for the info

Can a cracked forcing cone be repaired?

That's all I needed to know. It's a wall hanger from here on out as I have other shooters. Thanks for the response.

Can a cracked forcing cone be repaired?

I have a .38 M&P, model of 1905, 4th change that was shipped some time in 1917. It had the 5" barrel and the forcing cone is cracked. I had it replaced several years ago, with the only barrel I could find, a 6" version. Can the forcing cone crack be repaired? I'd really like this gun...
