I traded my regular 9mm and .40 on Performance Center versions. The trade was well worth it to me. Much better recoil, flip and trigger. I carry both and love them both.

Update to Ported Shield I was able to "unerase" the television show that discussed upcoming S&W Performance Center M&P models. There will be, in fact, a ported barrel and slide version of the Shield 9mm and .40 caliber offered by S&W. Don't know if it's for the gun competition crowd or not...

I mistakenly erased a GunTalk show that I thought had a segment on a ported barrel and slide for the Shield. Is this in the works or am I losing what little is left of my mind?

I agree. The cost is higher than I wanted but after a near fatal run-in with a couple of copperheads last fall I felt the cost was worth the extra rounds.

I just bought and received 3 kits that increase the magazine capacity on my full size .22 M&P to 15 rounds. They were easy to install and I hope to give them a try this week. I will post the web address tomorrow. I think each kit cost around $6 plus shipping.

Got my .22 back with the new rear sights installed for free from the gun dealer. Haven't shot yet, but the 9mm/.40 rear sights on the .22 now make it a 3 dot like the larger calibers. Thanks for all the input throughout this thread.
