    3 inch S&W 1911

Okay I will post a report. I don't think you should fret about lost velocity too much. It's still a 45. If it was a 32, then fret a little.

    3 inch S&W 1911

Hey eveled, I paid $1020 for the two-tone 3" about 10 days ago. Have not shot it yet, I did order RAASCO slim grips and grip screw bushings because the stock grips are a little thick for my medium hands. Seems like a great gun, I previously had a Sig 3.5 inch that had a shorter grip and seemed...

Help date my 32 Safety Hammerless 3rd mod.

Looking to narrow the date on this recent purchase ($330). Gun has a few thin spots in the bluing on cylinder and at tip of muzzle, but otherwise very nice, functions well. Serial number is 212943 I would guess mid 1930's but I'm not sure. I may letter it. Hope it's close to my 1930 Model A Ford...

    Advice on 386 w/barrel play?

Yes it is a 386PD and when I saw it in the case I was ready to buy, until I noticed the loose barrel. The price was $480, and I might do a bit of research on the barrel tightening issue, but I decided to pass on this particular gun. Thanks to all. More on the subject here...

    Advice on 386 w/barrel play?

I saw a nice 386 snub .357 (Scandium / Titanium) with a great price, but there was a tiny bit of play: the barrel / forcing cone assembly would slide forward and back within the frame. It was barely noticeable maybe 1/100th of an inch. Did not seem right to me, so I did not bite. Is this gun...

    Got my 43C. It's Here!

Well then, lighter than or equal to a 642 (I have a 442 mfg. 2009ish) is good, better than the 317 for sure. Thanks.

    Got my 43C. It's Here!

How is the trigger pull? Anyone put a scale on it? I have not checked other threads. I got rid of my J-frame 2" 317 because the DA trigger was up near 14 pounds, way more than my model 63. Kept the 63.

    What is your age?

I am 43, but I don't feel a day over 39. Unless I play soccer with my kids.

Fair Trade? My Sig 226 for his M17-3?

22 revolvers are so much fun, heck 22 anything are a joy to shoot and cheap ammo to boot! If the sig were your only centerfire handgun, I might pause for a moment: always good to have a "real" gun handy. Otherwise the 17 will be a lot of fun, so go have a ball.

The best deal you ever made on a gun??

I paid $50 for a nice shootable top break Model 2 single action 38 spur trigger. It was in 1988 I think. The nickel finish was worn in a few areas, but not bad. I think a friend got it from his grandpa's estate and did not want it. I traded it in on (I think) a new model 19 four years later. Got...

model 63 4inch no dash with Herrett grips- value?

I bought a no dash pinned barrel 63 with original grips, no box, in very good / excellent condition on gun broker two years ago for $500, plus $30 ship & $30 transfer. Not a screaming deal, but I wanted one, so I got one. I passed up a few minty models with box & papers that were a couple...

22LR Snap Caps (something of a review) UPDATED

I haven't had much luck with 22 snaps. I have used the bulk orange ones (plastic) but they soon break, rim cracks, etc. The anodised aluminum ones are too hard for use other than test cycling an autoloader. I theink we have a business plan! We need tough yet flexible urethane or some such...

Let`s see some polished nickel guns

Shiny pretty thing... Thanks everyone, what great stuff to look at. I am drawn to the model 15 in nickel, I just like it... I only have one nickel, a 586 no dash, love the wood on it too. My other L frame, a 696 butted in. My first handgun ever was a private purchase of a nickel model 1 and a...

    Delta Elite 10mm any good?

Duke is right, give it a test drive, it will hold it's value really well. If you decide you can live without it, it will find a new home easily.
