    Model 64 barrel length question?

We know that there has been a small number of Model 10's built with 2 1/2" barrels. Does anyone know if any Model 64's were built with 2 1/2" as well? Regards, JFOHIO

    Model 64 Snub Questions

Now that gun has a great barrel profile. Does not appear to have the taper that others seem to have in prior posts. So what are we looking at? Heavy or standard? What say you. JFOHIO

    Model 64 Snub Questions

Comment: The Standard Catalog of S & W, M64 Section, Variations, states: "Several heavy barrel lenghts (2", 3", 4") made for the NYPD in double action only, with a matte finish marked "NY-1" in the yoke cut with bobbed hammer." So it would seem that 2" HB's do exist as stated by others in this...

    Model 64 Snub Questions

Here is a new thought for today. The Standard Catalog of S &W (III), page 225, M64 Section, Engineering and Production Changes, states: "1973: Heavy barrel only" Are we to infer that: 1. In 1973 2" guns were produced only with heavy barrels; or 2. In 1973 no 2" M64's were produced. What do...

    Model 64 Snub Questions

Zebulon: I would like to find a 64 with a 2" barrel that looks like yours shown over the targets (picture on the left). To my eye that barrel is certainly heavier and more straight sided than the one pictured on the right. To me it looks the same as the picture posted by Photoman44. I would...

    Model 64 Snub Questions

Photoman44 - Thanks for posting the terrific picture! Your 64 is the variation I like the best. Could you let us know the complete model No. (64, 64-1, 64-2, etc.) and the approx. year mfg. if known. Looking at your picture I would have guessed it has a heavy barrel, but based on the response...

    Model 64 Snub Questions

I am considering a Model 64, 2" (pre MIM and IL), and have been researching the variations. After reading the M64 section in the Standard Catalog of S&W I have the following questions that hopefully some of you may be able to answer. 1. Is a 2" "standard" barrel, and a 2" tapered" barrel the...

    M64 snub question

As there were a few 2.5" M10's made, can anyone tell me if there were any runs of 2.5" M64's? Thanks, JF OGCA

    Leather holster question

OWB/On The Belt leather holsters are usually made with the smooth side out and rough side in. Some makers offer models with suede lining either as standard or as an option. What are the pros and cons of suede lining vs unlined? Any opinons will be appreciated. JF OGCA

    Pocket Holster Questions

Would like advice. Am looking at pocket holsters for my M60. Would like to avoid , as much as possible, holster damage to the finish of the gun. Am I better off with leather or another type of material? With regard to leather, are there advantages to horsehide over cowhide? Thanks
