Hs-6 sorta works with 200gr plated in 45acp. I have sorta ok results with WSF in 380 acp with 100gr plated. I would look for a faster powder, Accurate #5 will work well, W-231 and HP-38 will work better.
I have been hoping to find so Be-86 to try for 45acp and 380acp.
Make sure your case holder is concentric, mine was not so I returned it to the place of purchase they had five .308 win. in stock only one was acceptable.
This has more to do with the gun that this load was worked up for. I can work up a warm load for my M-10 that will beat up my M-36.
You can get the same velocity with a slower powder with less pressure.
"Interesting to hear. My experience is not that at all: I have never, ever found PP to be problematic with lead bullets, at any velocity."
I have less leading for cast bullets in 38spl with BE, W-231 700X and AA#5 than with Power Pistol.
If you have Blue Dot it would be worth a try. It does well for me in short barrel 44spl with jacketed bullets. I would guess it might do very well in a short barreled mag. with jacketed bullets.
"You absolutely won't"
That's what I figure, if I need a heavy crimp for 38spl as to help a slower powder burn more efficiently the case length must be close. And then there is the out of square case mouth thing.
I find the same thing with .357 mag. but crimp is even more important. I use RCBS...
I have 38spl brass once fired factory stuff that measured 1.157" after sizing, I also have once fired factory 38 spl brass that measured 1.142" after sizing. So how would I achieve a consistent crimp with out trimming?
I would like try WSF for my S&W 696 with 200gr cast bullets, but I can't find any load data.
I have used Unique, AA#5, HS-6, and VV N340 For upper end loads, but WSF is all I could find.
I hope the the weather improves for you its been nice here in central OR for a while but that will soon change.
I would like to to try True Blue but nobody stocks it locally.
I have good results with Accurate #7 with jacketed bullets and magnum primers in a Ruger sec. six w/a 2.75" barrel, I...
