cutting back on a 44 mag would just mean reloading 44 specials. reloading for both 44 special is a slight different ballpark due to burn rates and different powders as the 44 special doesn't take to slower burning powders where as the 41 and 44 mag use almost identical burning powders
Ruger has made quite a few of the GP100s in 44special and 10mm, which I hear is comparable to the 686. So I see a 41mag isn't too far out of the question.
I'd like a 686 in 41mag with a 6" barrel, I usually carry a side arm in bear and cougar country. I love my model 29 but it is a touch on the heavy side and I'd like something still packing a punch but nice enough for holster carry
I've been thinkin about getting a model 57 in 41 mag but prices for older pieces are through the roof. On top of having an L-frame, I wanted something a touch slimmer than an N-frame for holster carry. If SW can make a model 69 to load 44 mag it seems like the logical thing to do would be to...
My only minor complaint is that the hammer is small and I'm used to the S&W oversized hammer. That feels quicker than the small nubby Ruger hammer. I wonder if there's someone who can mod me a wide square S&W style hammer for the SRH?
I chose the SR because I wanted to test out some 240gr JHP loads I've been working with. I'm using 22.5gr of H110 and 23gr of Lil Gun with those loads and with very good results.
Anyone own any of the 620s? I've seen one come up for about 700 and have considering getting one. I like the half lug models over the full lugs as they just balance very well in the hand. Also a plus side is that they carry 7 rounds over 6, but the catch is its only available in a 3" barrel...
I've been looking for a companion to my Model 29 and found one in a Ruger SRH in 44 mag. I've been looking to checkout a Ruger and I just said screw it and went for their top of the line model. For all the reviews I've read its built like a tank and really takes the recoil out of most 44s I've...
