Smith and Wesson Model 66-2 or 19-5

IMO,if you are going to part ways with your 4" Model 66-2 it should only be done for a 3" Model 66-2.

S&W had some beautifully blued revolvers and semi-Autos made prior to 1975;after 1975 not so much.

I like satin stainless, bead blasted not so much.

Both are very good for carry as they are light built. But both have the weak forcing cone due to the space restrictions of the small frame. They are known to crack when shooting much 357 mag loads. Not so with 38 spls.

I like blue better and carbon steel is tougher than stainless I believe.

If you like to go to the range much, sell it for a 586 blued. That would be a good harder working gun for shooting sports. Or a 4'' model 28, even beefier.

... I am wondering if I am crazy for selling the 66 for the 19.

Somewhat. It will be hard to replace down the road.

I personally prefer stainless revolvers - for their utility. Strongly recommend you keep that really nice M66, & just buy the M19. Put it on a card - if cash is short, & you just have to have it.

Just my $0.02 - other's mileage may vary...
