New to pistols and new to forum

Welcome from Pa. I have the sd40ve, probably 1500 rounds thru it and no problems. I put on a set of Tru-Glo sights and a stainless steel guide rod. Only changes I made and am extremely happy with the gun. Good luck and Happy Shooting.

    Lube Question

I use EWG grease on the slide rails, just a dab with a syringe. Rem oil everywhere else.

Remove Recoil Spring from Rod (SDVE)

I have a .40sdve and once you take the slide off, you just remove the recoil rod and spring and then the spring just slides off the rod.You can go to you tube, look up field strip s&w sd40ve and follow along.

    Sigma/SD ownership thread

poll I have the sd40ve, my first semi-auto, and love it. Got it a little over a year ago and have over 1000 rounds thru it. Except for a couple minor glitches, learning the gun, I have no problems.

Went on a bit of a shopping spree for my sd40

Not familiar with the ameriglo sights, but put a set of tru glo on my sd40ve. Much better than the white dots, mine are green front and yellow rear. The two color contrast really helps.

    sd40 recoil spring assembly

I put the Wolff spring in my sd40ve, the spring and rod are steel. Stayed with original weight, not much difference in recoil that I noticed. Kept the original as a backup.

    High Round Counts For SD's?

I have a 40sdve and have about 1500 rounds with only a couple minor issues. Fail to feed which I think was user error since they were my first and second time shooting this gun, which happens to be my first semi-automatic. Gun is stock and plan on keeping it that way.

    No Issues Again!

Took my sd40ve to the range today shot 100 rounds of "canned heat" from G.A. no issues whatever. About my fifth time shooting this gun, my first, and except for one ftfeed at first,( my fault I'm sure) have not had any problems with any ammo I've used.

    georgia arms

Just went to the range today, shot my .40cal "canned heat" from G.A. no problems, seemed as potent as other factory ammo I used and about as clean as others. Will keep them on my fav's.

Thanks for everyone's comments, did a follow-up post after getting to the range a couple days ago. Seems to be a difference of opinion where it's made.

    German ammo follow-up

It says right on the box made in Furth, Germany, and nowhere in my post did I say what I paid. I got 500 rounds for $200 including shipping, so not much more than you paid for 1000.

    German ammo follow-up

Got my 500 rounds of Geco ammo from Weapons World in about 5 days, finally got to the range. Had one fail to feed, about 5th round in the first mag.must have been operator error, because after that had 100 rounds problem free. Overall I was happy with the performance, comparing it with other ammo...

    german ammo

Hello, has anyone had any experience with Geco ammo, just got 500 rounds from Weapons World. Got tired of waiting and this came up at a reasonable price. Will let you all know how it works for me after I get it and try it.
