I was in the same situation waiting it for the 3X32 to come in at OpticsPlanet. I finally canceled the order and went with the 3-9X40...no regrets at all, I love it! :D

    Freedom Munitions

This past Friday I played hookie with a friend from work...we took 1/2 days ("doctors appointment") in the morning and we went out to the outdoor range in Ridge here on Long Island. He's been to this range many times before, me it was my first time. Sighted in my Sport with the new Nikon P223...

    M&P 15 sport upper switch?

Reminds me of the guy who sold me my Sport at my local gun shop. Regarding the foward assist and dust cover...he said he's got guns setup so "tatical" that it's like he's ready to jump out of helicopter in the middle of the night, but the truth is is will not load up the car and drive to the...

    Sport Cheek Pad Question

The butt pad was to make the stock a tad bit longer and to make it a little bit more comfortable fit in the shoulder, it is not needed for recoil reduction.

Interesting trip to Dick's Sporting Goods

The first one was $149, the two others were $10 cheaper if I recall right. There has been Marlin rebate (about once a year) that reduces the buy in even more. Excellent gun for the money, throw on some Tech Sights and you have a great marksmenship training tool.

Interesting trip to Dick's Sporting Goods

I bought three Marlin 795's for me, my wife and nephew for an Appleseed shoot (next weekend, can't wait) at Dicks...the price was the best I could find, even considering online buying.

    Sport Cheek Pad Question

Got my cheek pieces yesterday, the small one (0.75") is what I'm going with. Very well made and snaps into place firmly. I applied a bead of GOOP into the four slots the cheek piece snaps into, now it's a rock solid mount. Much better scope alingment and cheek weld. I stood sideways in front of...

    Sport Cheek Pad Question

My New York compliant (fixed stock) Sport is rounding out nicely with a Nikon P223 scope mounted with Nikon rings on a 1 inch riser (XL head). The one thing missing with this setup is a good cheek weld. I'm not crunched up sighting the scope, and ear muffs play great...but a solid cheek weld...

    Scope mounting problem

I used a one inch riser on my new Sport that I mounted a Nikon P223...just right for my XL head!

    New Sport w/Nikon P-223 3-9x40 Scope

I set it up with the Nikon scope and rings and no riser, it did work. I like the riser as it makes sighting more natural for me (big head) and it provides plenty of clearance around the charging handle.

    Freedom Munitions

I just ordered 500 rounds of 55gr FMJ .223 for $169.42 shipped from Freedom Munitions, that works out to 34 cents per round...not too shabby. Me for punching paper, I'd rather save some cost using quality reloads, and I like the idea of giving my cash to a real USA based company...helping out...
